Recommendations for open, full-size headphone with no amplification necessary

So, in the end I decided to drop the unamped requirement because my Schiit Jotunheim is surprisingly portable, which means that carrying it up and down the stairs is not a huge pain. In order to choose a pair of headphones from all the suggestions I took advantage of the fact that there's a nice...

Recommendations for open, full-size headphone with no amplification necessary

It's not the clamp but the fact that they are on-ear and therefore push my ears back which starts hurting after a while. I've owned them (and used them extensively) for 12 ish years so they should be plenty loose by now. Spare parts are great and I am looking for something that'll last 10-15...

Recommendations for open, full-size headphone with no amplification necessary

Never knew they've started making headphones, I haven't checked on Head-Fi in ages so I only know Focal as a speakers manufacturer. Will have a look at them, thanks for the tip! Those are some good points, If I leave all of the stuff in the living room I could indeed get some larger equipment...

Recommendations for open, full-size headphone with no amplification necessary

Hi all, I've had a pair of Sennheiser HD 25-II's forever (13 years of abuse in my backpack and still going strong). However, there are a couple of downsides to the HD 25 that make them less than ideal for home use, so I've decided to get a second pair of cans to complement them. The tricky part...

    "American" classical music

Hi guys,   So I'm looking for distinctly "american" classical music. Music that portrays the idyllic countryside feel of the US. I've already listened to most of Ives' music and Appalachian Spring by Copeland and am looking for similar stuff.   Example:

Who here watches Game of Thrones ?

Definitely not the one tonight, someone a couple of posts above me is absolutely right, the producers of GoT use the final episode for some minor cliffhangers concerning the next season. It's not a bad episode, but dull and underwhelming.

New Releases 2012 - No Records Released Before 2012

You might want to check out the new Moritz von Oswald trio, as far as experimental electronic music goes, it's the best I've heard this year.

It's not like Americans have ever improved something    Anywaaayz, the BBC airs some intelligent dubstep, Scuba did an essential mix this week.

Hotflush never ceases to amaze. The versitality of their output and constant quality is unparallelled. Sigha's abstractions ep is great, sooo much detail

Who actually hates music and doesn't even know why they spent so much money on headphones?

I haven't read a book (literature) in the last year. I just don't enjoy it as much as listening to music or watching movies.

The untrue sound isn't a bad thing. But in 2012 it's been there, done that. I'm glad to see Burial is finally moving on.

Finally Burial released some new tracks that don't sound like Untrue. And yes, they are brilliant, I'm not sure how anybody is going to top the Kindred ep this year.

"My Era of Music Was The Best"

Quote: Given that those artists usually do not write their own songs, I'd say it's not their fault. If I would be making the money they are making at the moment I would not care for a second about communicating the emotional core of my art. I'd sing all the lame songs the record label gives...
