just ordered first DAC: Nuforce Icon uDAC2
Quote: Ya, I completely get that, I didn't intend it to sound like that, but looking back at my first post, it kinda does. I'm not an audio expert, nor do I have much gear at all. I just have read up on some stuff in the forums. I even bought the uDac 1 myself, and while I admit...- Blackwheel

just ordered first DAC: Nuforce Icon uDAC2
It was wrong of me to generalize, I agree. How could the rest of my post "be inferred as placebo in the opposite direction"? Not sure what you mean by that... I specifically state that trying to go for total technical accuracy is impossible. Tube amps also have their own technical...- Blackwheel

just ordered first DAC: Nuforce Icon uDAC2
Quote: So ignorance is bliss? Sorry, but I strongly disagree with that. I'm just giving him my opinion and some information about the product. @peskypesky If you're happy with it you should keep the uDac 2. It is a great sounding device with a lot of functionality, but you also...- Blackwheel

just ordered first DAC: Nuforce Icon uDAC2
That's awesome that you found a dac that you are enjoying, but there is something you should know about the uDac 2. They are generally not respected at all on the forums. This matter is one of technical accuracy vs "nice sounding" coloration. Most users on head-fi pay big dollars for gear...- Blackwheel

Earbuds in MX580/Pk3 range, but w/ no volume control and a Y-cord?
I picked up the PK3s a year ago and they had the Y-cord, I think they switched to the Y-chord a good while ago. They were really nice, warm sounding and detailed, good bass. However, the buds were too large for my ears, and got uncomfortable in extended listening sessions (might not be a problem...- Blackwheel

Senn Mx580 - Removing Inline Volume Control?
I was wondering, would it be possible to rewire the earbuds and lose the useless volume control? Has anybody tried?- Blackwheel

Looking for Compact Speakers, please help
Thanks for the feedback guys. I had this feeling that I should have pulled the trigger on those Energies when I had the chance, do you think I should sill pick up a pair of those if I see them? Are Energies really that good? Also, both the Atoms and the Minuets look really nice. I’m... -
Looking for Compact Speakers, please help
I was originally going to pull the trigger on a pair of Energy RC-Minis that were sold in the FS section, but I didn't. What I'm wondering now is, are there any new models/ products (from any brand) that offer better sound in the same compact space? I'd be willing to spend 200, more if it's...- Blackwheel

AIAIAI TMA-1
Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting these, they look really nice. One question though, is there a noticeable lack of treble? Are they bassy/boomy, and focused on the low end? Let's say I listen to an orchestra with these, will I be disappointed? Lastly, how do these compare to the Sennheiser HD...- Blackwheel
