Singxer SU-1 Owners
btw I make my own diy DC cables of silver or silver clad wire isolated with cotton soaked in oil. It works well with the LPS-1 and the Singxer SU-1.- SebastianL

I use either an Uptone LPS-1.2 or LPS-1. They are quite expensive but I think they are worth it. If you’re lucky you can get your hands on a cheaper second hand LPS-1. It has a standard DC out jack and you can use a European power cord for the 230V. Since you’re in Germany they have a nice Allo...- SebastianL

EMU 0404 USB Opamp and Capacitor Modding Guide
Does anybody know the voltage rate of the oscillators/clocks? I’m considering exchanging these as I have a pair of spare NDK 3.3V already.- SebastianL

Thanks, but no that didn't help. Like I said: 'I power cycled both the SU-1 and the SBT some 3 or 4 times..... to no effect.' It wasn't until I connected the SU-1 to my laptop that the blue 'play' LED came on. The Windows PC somehow sent a USB handshake that got the Singxer going.- SebastianL

I've had the SU-1 for about 1½ year as a USB->AES interface between my Squeezebox Touch player (w. EDO) and my totaldac. It's been running quite smoothly. Then I swapped the internal psu for an LPS-1.2 with very good results in SQ. Then suddenly a couple of weeks ago the SU-1 wasn't playing...- SebastianL

Little DOT MK III Mods??
I'm sorry I can't quite comment on that as I have another version of the pcb - the mkIV. But as I said, try to email LD support they're usually responding.- SebastianL

Vinshine Audio DAC R2R-REF w/ soekris
I don't get this. Now, why would you want to isolate a signal that is already isolated in the first place in the soekris r2r-dac? Like, you don't have to turn off the lights twice. It doesn't get any darker doing that. Btw. Paul has his own filter site called moredamfilters. Hasn't been...- SebastianL

MHDT Havana DAC
yes, quite a price jump. But the sheer production doesn't come cheap either since it's a true discrete resistor ladder design. Those Vishay Foil Resistors are at least $15 a piece. 200 resistors per stereo channel, you can do the math. Totaldac prices are here Delta-Sigma dacs just doesn't...- SebastianL

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
Sorry if this has been described before, but how does the Yggy handle the delicate fading notes of a solo piano and low level information in general? Any sign of distortion or quantization artifacts?- SebastianL

MHDT Havana DAC
Interesting. Effortless was the exact same phrase that instantly came to mind when I experienced two different discrete r2r-ladder dacs, the TotalDac and the Discreet Monica. Those two dacs made every other sigma-delta dac sound like they are struggling. I even owned the Discreet Monica for...- SebastianL

Little DOT MK III Mods??
Hey wow lemonjelly. Thanks for the very comprehensive post! SInce my posts in this thread I've moved on to a solid state Questyle amp, but if one day I find the time I'd like to try the 6SN7 modification as I have some of these tubes already. Keep up the good work :)- SebastianL

Trends Audio NEW Headphone Tube AMP: UPDATE W/ Photos
Ever since I bought this amp in 2011 the volume potmeter has been very noisy. Any precise ideas of an alternative potmeter? (It's got 6 pins as I recall).- SebastianL

Questyle CMA800 Current Mode amp
Be careful not to put too much emphasis on specs alone when considering hifi equipment. I'm very well aware that Audez'e recommends amps that produce 1-4w but power isn't an issue here. Schiit Lyr doesn't sound nowhere near as good with its 4w into 50 ohms. I think it goes for any decent...- SebastianL

Questyle CMA800 Current Mode amp
Read this post of mine: http://www.head-fi.org/t/692923/review-questyle-cma800-current-mode-amplifier#post_10029600 If this amp hasn't got enough power to drive the LCD-2 the next step would be to connect it directly to the speaker posts of a 500w power amp!! I know some people do this...- SebastianL

Review: Questyle CMA800 Current Mode Amplifier
Nice job project86! Concerning the question about adequately driving a pair of HE6 it's not quite clear from the review if the CMA800 is being fed using the single ended rca input or the balanced xlr. However if I use the balanced xlr inputs of my CMA800R the output has a 6dB gain over the...- SebastianL

Hey wow, the extra 4 pairs of cone-feet included with the amp make fantastic spinning tops!! They go on forever and stay in the eaxct same spot all the time. Questyle CMA800 Current Mode amp
So far I've only had a few hours with my new CMA800R but I can safely say that it's not lacking any bass impact, which was one of my main concerns with this amp. Also I've noticed a slight improvement in dynamics over my heavily modded Little Dot mkIVse which in direct comparison sounds a bit...- SebastianL

Questyle CMA800 Current Mode amp
The V181 is not a bad amp, it just got hyped too much in the 'best amp for the LCD-2' thread. The funny thing is that my LD tube amp and the V181 weren't far apart in sound signature. Mind you that I have spent years tube rolling and modding the hell out of the little chinese amp. But I just...- SebastianL
