New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
I'm not even interested in the slightest to spend that amount of money on an IEM, though. I use IEM's for sports and commuting and would never want to spend more than $100-150 on them for those applications. I just got a Sony SBH80 bluetooth set, but I think those will be going back. They...- Belabor

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
I disagree. Not only the build quality, but also the fit, comfort and isolation are at the top of what $100 would get you. I agree that there are beter options out there for sheer audio quality, but very few have that same mid-forward signature. Most are either relatively neutral or v-shaped...- Belabor

Looking for IEM with Mic for android for ~$100.
I would like to jump in on this as I have the exact same requirements and budget that you have, but am still undecided about what I want to get. I currently have the SE215, but it's beginning to fail on one end and I think it's time to try something new. Several options that I have...- Belabor

Nexus 5x and 6p sound quality
Output has been a problem for sure, but most people seem at least content with the quality. The lack of background noise/hiss compared to other phones has been something a lot of people on reddit have noted as a plus as well. It seems to be somewhat behind the Samsung and OnePlus devices, but...- Belabor

Nexus 5x and 6p sound quality
Wouldn't the Qualcomn DAC be isolated the same way in every Snapdragon 810 phone because it is part of the chipset, or am I wrong in assuming that? The only thing wrong with my Note II is that when I plug in my headphones and my phone starts updating apps, my audio signal will just be...- Belabor

Nexus 5x and 6p sound quality
I'm waiting on the GSMarena review for the definitive word on SNR and crosstalk. I'm coming from a Samsung Note II (with Wolfson DAC), so I'm hoping the 6P's Qualcomm DAC can at least perform similarly to what I'm used to.- Belabor

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
Quote: I use the Flex tips as well, but unfortunately they're not very comfortable so far. I'm going to use them for the coming weeks and see if it gets better. Otherwise I still have a set of Shure olives that will work. Regarding my second impressions with these, I can tell that...- Belabor

New Shure SE215 - First Impressions
I just wanted to chime in about the SE215 I just got yesterday. I'm using them with my Samsung Galaxy Note II, and so far, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. First impressions outside of the box were good. The durability seems excellent. Isolation seems good too, but I still have to test...- Belabor

Top 3 IEMs under $100 ?
Quote: Thanks for confirming my feelings, I've ordered them! I'm curious to hear how they compare to my broken M11+, and I hope they will last me at least a year (or two). I've heard a number of bad stories about the cable and the connectors, but I'm just going to have to gamble it.- Belabor

Top 3 IEMs under $100 ?
I'm looking at this price range as well, because I need to replace my broken Meelectronics M11+. I'm looking at the Shure SE215 at the moment, because it's easily available at a good price for me. Is there anything in the price range that compares and has a similarly warm sound signature?- Belabor

Hey Head-Fi! Well, I'm back. Again. I really enjoyed my Meelectronics M11+ over the last 2 years, but unfortunately the cable has developed a minor but extremely annoying issue. I've been thinking of trying something new for a while, but this issue has made it clear for me that I need...- Belabor

SAmsung galaxy note 2
Is the Note II a good stand-alone music player? I'm currently using a Fuze with Rockbox and Meelec M11+ in-ears. I was looking to replace my Fuze with a Clip Zip, as my Fuze is beginning to show it's age. But I'm also in the market for a new smartphone. Would the Note II be a worthy...- Belabor

Hippo Biscuit Music Player Review
Quote: Have to say I disagree with you. The only way this could work out is if you have something like SlotRadio cards, which each contain a small number of tracks. Or maybe an SD-card that only contains one album. How else would you use this player? It's a niche thing. A little joke...- Belabor

Hippo Biscuit Music Player Review
I don't see why this has a MicroSD slot, but no screen or at the very least not even a shuffle function... what's the point? Basically they're selling a player that you have to pay extra for because it has absolutely no features...- Belabor

Looking for something cheap and cheerful: Fuze replacement
Well, I've been reading some threads on the Porbale Source Gear boards, and I think the Clip+ or Clip Zip is indeed my best bet. I've been using Rockbox on my Fuze for quite some time. If I want to use Rockbox on my next device as well, would it be better to go for the Clip+, since it's...- Belabor

Looking for something cheap and cheerful: Fuze replacement
Quote: Unfortunately, that particular C2 has to ship from Korea. I'm also not big on buying through eBay, because warranty can be quite the hassle. All the local prices I have managed to find are >100 euro's, so I'll pass on the C2. I'm leaning towards the 8GB Clip Zip at the moment...- Belabor

Looking for something cheap and cheerful: Fuze replacement
Thanks for the replies so far! Quote: I currently only have 4GB of music on my Fuze. I don't have a really big music collection, but I also change my playlists around a lot. I could just buy a bigger SD-card if I really need more space. I think my next player will have at least...- Belabor

Looking for something cheap and cheerful: Fuze replacement
Hello once again Head-Fi! I haven't been around here for quite some time, but now that my Sansa Fuze is starting to show it's age, I'm looking for something to replace it. The power/lock slider is really worn, the battery life has degraded over time and I just feel like trying something...- Belabor

ENERGY SISTEM E212 - Giveaway
Congratulations to the winners. I don't know what method you used to randomly choose two people. I kept checking for my avatar to show up in that vid, but I only saw it twice. It went so fast that it might have been a couple of times more than that though. EDIT: #1 at 11...- Belabor

Meelectronics is to release M11+
Sadly, after only 10 hours of break-in, I'm getting a hunch these might not be for me. The cymbals can be really overpowering on some tracks as well as the bass. This really doesn't work with a lot of my (alternative) rock music. Is this something that will get better with break-in, or is this...- Belabor

Meelectronics is to release M11+
So, mine have arrived! I'm now listening to them with the wide and short dual flange tips. These seem to fit the best for me, but I think I will keep experimenting with them for the next few days. The sound is completely different from my PL50, it was kind of a shock for me. This might...- Belabor

ENERGY SISTEM E212 - Giveaway
I would like to participate as well. I have the SoundMAGIC PL50 here and a MEElectronics M11+ on the way, so that should be plenty to compare them to in terms of sound quality, build quality and comfort. I've also been trying really hard to get some of my friends and relatives to upgrade...- Belabor

Portable Solution
Portable, sure. Usability, sound quality, build quality and customer support are probably very poor, though. I like the idea, but it's definitely not something I would buy. How on earth do you even use that thing without taking it off your head all the time? You might need extensive...- Belabor

[DEAL ALERT] MEElectronics M11+ and M11P+ 51% off!
I failed to control myself this time. The left housing of my PL-50's has split and I tried glueing it back together, but it didn't really work. So I thought, what the hell, and bought them with the coupon code just before it expired. I figured, if I don't like them, I could...- Belabor

SoundMAGIC PL-50 released, received, reviewed!!!
I decided to put some superglue on after all. Seems like it's holding pretty well so far. If it decides to split again soon, I'm definitely going to return here and check out some alternatives. Thanks for being as helpful as ever, ClieOS.- Belabor
