So I was thinking about selling out...I need some help.
So after spending a couple years here, countless hours reading and researching and soul searching and spending money...I have decided it's time to say hell with it all and sellout. I mean why not...many of the top people in headphones are doing it...it just seems like the thing to do. What I am...- Nubster

I LOVE my Beyerdynamic DT770/80 Pro's...what next?
I know it's a very subjective question but it's Christmas time and I need to give my g/f a wish list...so why not some new cans. Right now the only thing I have is a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770/80 Pro's off a Little Dot 1+ with NOS Sylvania GB-408A tubes all hooked up to a Keces DA-151 D/A...- Nubster

Anyone else with the Little Dot I / Keces DA151 DAC combo? Or one or the other?
Just wondering....I am thinking about a new set of phones but I don't want to buy another amp/DAC so I was hoping for some input on what cans might pair well with my current setup. I have Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80's now and they work well. Oh yeah, I have the Sylvania 408A tubes in as well...- Nubster

New to music...what to get
Well, not really new to music but new to quality music. As with everything I have been reading here the last week, music formats are pretty confusing to me. I have several thousand songs in my library (on my PC) and every single one of them is mp3. I also have a few dozen CD's that are the... -
Starting with the best...
During my reading and debating over what to get I started thinking, being new to all this, would it be more beneficial to start with lower end phones/equipment and work up to the higher end stuff? I just wonder if starting with top of the line gear would you fully appreciate it as much as if you...- Nubster

Headphones...To mod or not to mod?
This is just a question out of curiosity about modding headphones. I assume this would be the correct section. How do you know if a pair of headphones are worthy of re-cabling or modding? Is it just trial and error? Give it a try as see what the difference is type thing?- Nubster

Closed vs. Open
Looked around and didn't see it but I may have missed the answer but I was wondering why open phones are considered better as far as sound quality than closed? From a noob point of view, well, my point of view, I would have thought closed were better since the phones are enclosing the ear and...- Nubster

iBasso D2 and Alessandro MS-1 combo
Anyone tried the combo? I am pretty set on getting the MS-1's after reading all the rave reviews. As far as the DAC/Amp I am still on the fence. I know I don't need the amp so much with these phones but I think that I will need the DAC as my only source is my tired old PC with what is surly a...- Nubster

Beginner threads/info?
Been searching for beginner threads but not much has appeared. I am new to all this and as I read thread after thread I keep seeing a lot of terms and abbreviations and other jargon that I have no idea about. And all the different types of amps and, well, it is pretty overwhelming. Is there a...- Nubster

Another newb seeking newb advice...
Wow...I never knew that there was so much involved in headphones and audio in general. I have been reading here a couple hours before posting and some of the setups are incredible. That being said, I have just been bitten by the audiophile bug. Just a little but enough to get me researching. I...- Nubster
