Is there a reason why this would be a better choice than a Modi?- Xickle

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I want to run the T90's with a Crack amp, but got no idea which DAC is suitable for it. I hear these headphones are very sensitive about the equipment that's used to run them, so I want to get the right one. Would a Schiit Modi cut it, maybe something in that price range?- Xickle

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
I haven't heard any professional audiophile headphones yet, so I have nothing the T90's would compare to. I said to myself "better go in strong, so I don't need to upgrade later", to save some money in the long run. First I had my eyes on the DT880/990 as I mentioned, but now I discovered the...- Xickle

Sadly the demo availability is the same in my country, and I cannot get a pair of T90's for testing. I really love the look they have, and I don't like the HD600 looks at all, so I kinda want to try the T90 for that reason alone. Also, they are now about 20% cheaper in USA than in Europe, so I...- Xickle

These are all out of my budget :( I've got about 600-700$ or 500€ to spend for the whole setup - headphones, amp and dac. I saw a lot of people liked the Crack amp, but with 50$ shipping to Europe, without speedball, it costs me about 330$. I need a cheaper alternative or find somebody who...- Xickle

Oh I better hurry then! Just a question for everybody here: Which (tube) amp would you recommend for the T90's that would improve the bass? I don't have too much to spend on it, so I was thinking Schiit Vali, Little Dot + Xonar DX(for gaming) or Aune T1. But for an amp/dac like Aune I could...- Xickle

I've read that the Vali goes well with neutral and almost neutral sounding headphones, as it provides a bit more fun sound. Would you say that the T90 have a good amount of bass for drum & bass and dubstep and bass impact for gaming? So it's not all just a bass overflow, but it gives the ear...- Xickle

I'm thinking Xonar DX for DAC and a Schiit Vali semi-tube amp. Still need to buy these too though. I like a bit more bass so I'm leaning towards the Vali instead of a Magni, as it's said tube amps give a warmer sound.- Xickle

I'm thinking of buying these. Can you guys talk me out of it, so I don't spend so much? :) I was thinking DT880 or DT990 at first. How do the T90's compare to those two? I want to use em for gaming and listening to electronic music, perhaps mix a couple of tracks as a hobby.- Xickle

Which microphone with open headphones?
Yeah I really like it too, but the headphones I'm interested in don't have detachable cables, so I wouldn't be able to use it, unless there's something I can get to plug the end part into. I kinda like how this guy does it: http://imgur.com/gallery/bKU4H. I've also looked at the modmic, but...- Xickle

Which microphone with open headphones?
I have considered getting the Blue Yeti, but I'm looking for any cheaper alternatives, as I will use the mic for talking over skype. I will not be doing any quality commentary for the public, and such a mic would be a bit too much for my intentions. I saw a cool mod for mounting a mic boom...- Xickle

Do these leak enough sound for a microphone to pick it up while chatting over skype with friends?- Xickle

Which microphone with open headphones?
Hey thanks for the reply, but that wouldn't work on HE-400 headphones, because they got a different cable plug. I need another option, such as a desk mic or a quality clip-on mic.- Xickle
