Arctic Cables Discussion Thread
I discovered Arctic Cables in the comments on the Focal Clear MG review on Headphones.com. I'm a huge believer in upgrading cables on headphones. When I got my Clear MG, I ordered the Arctic Cable Cross Series to pair with it. It has been a match made in heaven in my system. Fast forward a...- wharfrat1

Rockbox for iBasso DX90 dual boot with Mango (Stock Firmware)
I am in search of some help. Have not posted here in a long time. Just bought a DX90 and installed Napka's latest Rockbox builds on it. Put some music on the internal drive and everything worked great. Just added 10 gig of music to the sd card and the database has been taking forever to...- wharfrat1

HD800 Owners only: Need some answers on AMP's that do and don't work
Quote: Been using the above setup for exactly a year, and I have no interest in going to anything else. I think the warm tubes and hard driving impact from the Raptor are just what the 800 needs. Once I found this setup, my urge to upgrade has completely gone away. Before this, I was...- wharfrat1

Do JH13 really rival/surpass the best full-size reference headphones available?
Yes, they are on the same level as the high end cans, better, no. I love both my 13's and my 800's. I'm not going to say that one is markedly better than the other. They both have so many great qualities and so few negative, you could not go wrong with either. With all of the glowing things...- wharfrat1

Sennheiser HD800 Review
Great review. I have found many of the same things listening to the 800, albeit with some different music. I know the whole system is important, but I've never found the 800 to be boring or sterile. They are so lifelike and consuming, as the OP said, you can't help but get sucked into and around...- wharfrat1

SE530 vs. JH13
It has been a while since I owned the 530's, but I can tell you it is rare that you can find something and say, is it worth the extra money, well yes the 13's are 100% worth it. I don't know what the 530's are going for these days. I got mine about 2 years ago for $350. So, I would say that you...- wharfrat1

JH Audio JH-13 PRO impressions thread
Congrats Grawk, I can tell you that at the almost one week mark, I am still completely in awe. These things are just so damn incredible. Tonight I'm taking a break to give my 800's a little love. To help answer the bass questions, these little bad boys have bass in spades. I really wonder who...- wharfrat1

WA6SE or RSA Raptor
Not at all. It really only takes a few minutes, say 3-5, for them to get warmed up. I just turn it on, surf the web for a few, and than dive in. I was all SS at first, and I do like my ultra desktop, but now that I've got the flavor of tubes, there's no going back.- wharfrat1

WA6SE or RSA Raptor
As I stated in your other thread, I will gladly endorse the Raptor. And as was stated earlier in this thread, the 800 and the Raptor are fantastic together. It really just depends on the sound that you are looking to get. As far as quality, you cannot find two better people to do business...- wharfrat1

Ray Samuel Amps
I bought both a stock WA6 and my Raptor at the same time (sorry, have never heard the SE). While I really enjoyed both, I just enjoyed the dynamic punch of the Raptor more. This decision was made using the stock tubes on the Raptor and with a Sophia Princess on the WA6. The Raptor is even better...- wharfrat1
