Your saying the price is jacked for the Logitech Z-5500 is because you can't find them anymore. Well that is so far from the truth you can find new units still on E-bay and kijiji in Canada plus i deal with a local computer store in my 1 horse town and they have a connection if i wanted 5 units...- Watsy1958

Blu-Ray Audio: The latest gimmick?
I know this is a old thread but I just have to express my opinion in a few words...high fidelity blue ray audio is plain crap the quality is just not there it's a real disappointment plus it's really hard to find 5.1 like it's almost impossible...over all it's just not worth checking out....- Watsy1958

I read a couple updates back you are now able to rip Blu Ray disc to flac using DvD Audio extractor...I'm thinking in order for this you would need to use a Blu Ray DvD combo reader ...it makes sense after buying a blu ray audio disc and failed to rip the disc just using a DVD burner.tried many...- Watsy1958

Yes the centre speaker that I bought a while back will stay with the Z-5500 which might help when it's time to sell the unit...Far as the rest of my junk I'll try to sell it on e-bay or a yard sale in the summer and maybe try to recover some of my $2000 back..Anyway I like the way you express...- Watsy1958

Your sure doing your share of speculating I heard those klipsch speakers and the difference isn't worth talking about....So I bought the klipsch RF52 ll from e-bay for $2000 and now I'm looking for a receiver but over all the Z-5500 is far better then the Z-906 that I have a strange feeling you...- Watsy1958

Your like myself you want to get the bass your looking for without spending the big bucks. Right now I have the logitech Z-5500 and I was about to replace the unit with suppose to be a step up the Z-906 after properly setting them up after the first song I heard I knew I made a mistake there...- Watsy1958

Logitech Z-5500 speaker change up
There again I use foobar 2000 and it also does decoding plus the asus soundcard and my z-5500 so which does the work...So if I did go with a reciever again a reciever decodes so over all it's confusing. I was thinking on buying a better 5.1 but this means I'd have more used CP part hanging...
