Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Did some traveling with the JEA 65t and pretty happy with them, going to keep them. Even just using them on the airplane they reduced noise significantly while turned off. The connection stability and ease of use has been perfect. I thought I got a good deal at $139.99 refurb on eBay, but the...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

The passive isolation is pretty solid - I did a test with my old Shure E2Cs and with a Jabra on one ear and an E2C in the other it sounds about the same volume. I can certainly tell that a fan is on, but it turns it down from 'annoyingly loud' to 'I know it's there'. If the Sony's are a step...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Do either of the two Sony (SP700N or WF-1000X) support multiple pairings? I don't need them to be paired to two devices simultameously, but I do want them to be able to remember two devices and connect to either without going through the pairing process. I'm not sure how to interpret what it...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I just got the Jabras. Sound is good to me. Isolation is on par with regular IEMs. I was surprised with how secure the fit was, and very impressed with connection quality. From an ease of use perspective they were great, take them out of the case and they turn themselves on and pair. Totally...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I was under the impression that your source device needs to support the appropriate AptX, AptX HD, AAC, or LDAC codecs in order to get improved SQ, if it only supports SBC then you'll have lossy compression

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I've got a set of the Jabra Elite Active 65t arriving tomorrow, will post my impressions. I'm seeing very mixed impressions of their SQ there. I'm coming from a very old pair of Shure E2C IEMs, and I found one person who had done a head-to-head comparison and said the Jabras are a bit better...

Replacing Shure E2Cs with wireless - Shure SE215-BT1, or something else?

Thanks. I was mistaken about that last point - they do not have active noise cancellation, it's just whatever passive isolation is offered by the tip. Unfortunately there don't seem to be any wireless IEMs that do. I saw the mics on the outside and assumed that's what they are for, but it's to...

Replacing Shure E2Cs with wireless - Shure SE215-BT1, or something else?

Thanks! I think the Jabra is probably the better choice for me. Most of the time I am using them, it's on the trainer and I'm sweaty. The carrying/charging case for the Jabras seems really nice as well as the pass-through feature that amplifies external sound. Seems like it would be useful on a...

Replacing Shure E2Cs with wireless - Shure SE215-BT1, or something else?

I've spent the morning doing some more research. As far as I can tell, ANC in lower end earbuds is a bit of a gimmick and I'm better off with proper IEMs that have foam tips. So now the Shure E215s are back to the top of the list. Curious if there are any recommended alternatives. Here's my...

Replacing Shure E2Cs with wireless - Shure SE215-BT1, or something else?

Hi, Long time head-fier here, but sometime around 2006 I got my hands on Shure E2C IEMs for portable use and AKG K340s for home use, and never looked back. Fast forward 12 years, and now I'm looking back a teensy bit. Mostly, it's because my phone no longer has a headphone jack, and the little...

PHILADELPHIA area meet October 26th, 2013

I will put in a tentative "yes". (Thanks for the PM, have we met before? I was at a lot of the Philly/NYC/Maryland meets nearly a decade ago, haven't been active since then, but it'd be cool to check out all the new gear that's come out since then, and meet some cool people). I'll have to see...

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Apologies if this has already been asked (long thread)   What's better to use on this, USB or SPDIF? I've been reading it up and most say it depends on the USB chip being used.   I have 4 interconenct options   1 - Use the USB in the maverick 2 - Use toslink out from my motherboard...

    Maverick Audio DAC/Amp

Hmmm, I tried it again today and it worked fine. Unexpected, but I'm happy. Only time will tell if the problem occurs again.
