Asian music (Chinese, Japanese, Korean)
Someone here must be familiar with Kim Kwang-Seok (김광석) right? I just heard this song and really liked it, wondering if anyone knows what in his discography might be good to start with, or what else is out there which is similar. :) -
The Deals Thread (CLOSED! See the last post for the link to the new thread)
Hehe thanks for the link. I believe their HD25-1 II's are actually refurbished, not new. Ironically I actually took the chance on them about six months ago for $130 through their Amazon storefront and it paid off. They arrived without the box, but the headphones and pouch were the real deal and...- Sceleris

The Deals Thread (CLOSED! See the last post for the link to the new thread)
Sorry if these have ever been brought up before, but does anyone know what the deal is with these? http://www.dakmart.com/Audio-Home-Audio-Headphones/c4_9_28/p6493/Denon-AH-D1001-Advanced-On-Ear-Headphones-AHD1001-w-Warranty/product_info.html I thought the D1001's were discontinued a...- Sceleris

Portable cans that won't make me miss my k701 or Tf10?
Seems like a spacious soundstage would be hard to find in a pair of small closed headphones. Have you looked at the KRK KNS-8400? Not sure how small a pair you need - they are larger than the HD-25s, but I feel like they would satisfy most of your criteria, perhaps with the exception of...- Sceleris

Desperate..Having trouble finding comfortable cans... Any Recommendations?
I should defer to someone who has actually tried them, but I have heard that the Creative Aurvana Live's are meant to be very comfortable, and you can get them for $70 or so. Perhaps you could look into those.- Sceleris

Perfect headphone : Jpop, Anisongs / Max Budget : 400ish usd
Since you said you have big ears, I just wanted to point out that the AD900's earpads are pretty shallow. My ears are on the large side and stick out a little bit, so when I bought them, the metal driver casings were right up against my ears and made them hurt. It's not a huge problem...- Sceleris

Headphone Sightings 2
I also saw someone with HD25's! He was next to me today on the plane and I think using them for some sort of audio mixing on his iPad.- Sceleris

My headphones are crackling sometimes.
Thanks for the response, Uncle Erik. I tried using the headphone out on my laptop and indeed the crackling disappeared, so it's certainly the E7 that's causing the crackling. Since the AD900s are supposed to be easily driven, is the issue more related to the E7 not getting enough power...- Sceleris

My headphones are crackling sometimes.
How common is it for crackling to show up in recordings? I ask because I also occasionally hear crackling sounds coming from my AD900s that I also hear on a pair of KNS-8400s during the same part of the song. Not likely that both headphones have messed up drivers, and also it's unlikely to be my...- Sceleris

Asian music (Chinese, Japanese, Korean)
Since the issue of Korean music getting away from hip hop and R&B influences was brought up, I thought I'd share the following - which I think is an example of non-mainstream music that has actually gotten relatively popular. Apologies if Jang Gi Ha has been brought up on this thread before and...
