I have the 3.02 on. I have done a factory settings reset - no result. If i do a full factory reset i will then lose my music and have to re-transfer it so i am trying to avoid it. Thats why i am asking if anyone has had a similar experience.- ross1974

SONY IER-Z1R
Maybe you are not achieving a perfect seal with it? In theory it should increase bass and roll off treble slightly if anything- ross1974

SONY IER-Z1R
Well I have no doubt there are better DAP/amps out there but once you hit a sound you really like and the law of diminishing returns kicks in at that point I look for a combo which is also convenient for me and the Sony Walkman is very portable and i can do everything with it out of one single...- ross1974

You are right! I am now listening to it through my Sony TA-A1ES amp’s headphone output in mid gain and the sound is incredible, fuller, richer.- ross1974

SONY IER-Z1R
I have just received my IER-Z1R last week after a long wait, S/N 7395. Before purchasing I read all available reviews and more all less all useful feedback in this forum, as these were not available to demo (or even imported) in my country. I decided to pull the trigger mostly based on my faith...- ross1974

SD the more I think about is the more I think LDAC transmitting higher res files could lead to a fuller sound- ross1974

Yes that's obvious nobody claimed otherwise. I am just stating I was impressed at how good it sounded for a NC 350€ phone and how similar the SS is. Other than that no comparison.- ross1974

I thought it's bass quantity was similar to the z1r maybe 10% less. Could the source make a difference do you think? LDAC?- ross1974

I think the mdr 1000 has the same type of sound as the z1r , lush and musical, I personally didn't think it's bass shy. Of course soundstage, detail etc are not up to the z1r but it's clear the are both made from the same company to my ears- ross1974
