T+A HiFi - HA 200 (Headphone Amp & DAC Combo) - Official Discussion Thread

Does anyone know if there is an internal voltage switch on the HA200? It looks like the EU models are far more plentiful and cheaper than the US models.

    Colorado Head-Fi Meet June 22, 2024

I moved back to the Denver area a couple years ago only to find that RMAF no longer exists. I'd love to come to this though. If anyone's interested, I could bring any of the following: Dynamic amp: Audio Technica AT-HA5050H Dynamic headphones: Audio Technica L5000, L3000, W3000ANV, AWKG...

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

The Helios does have a more substantial build than the lower cost offerings. Its exterior uses a much sturdier solid aluminum construction with a finish that's indicative of its price tier. The connectors on all the Weiss products are top-notch.

Audio Technica the master of WOOD

I thought the WB-2022 could be used as a wireless or wired headphone. Though maybe the wired option was only through a USB connector.

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

The Helios does not have a direct headphone jack like the 501 and 502 do. There is an attachment you can buy from Weiss to convert the balanced output jacks on the Helios to a balanced headphone out: I think it's $495 extra. I personally use the balanced out from the Helios to a Mjolnir Audio...

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

I tried the DSP a little when I first got my 501, but didn't stick with anything. It was in a headphone setup, so I didn't try the room equalization.

    Audio Technica ATH-L5000

It appears the AWKG is no longer listed for sale on the Audio Technica website. It was up last night, but it couldn't be added to the cart. It's off the Canada and UK Audio Technica sites completely.

Up for sale is my Weiss DAC501 streamer/DAC/digital sound processor/headphone amp. This is the smaller brother of the DAC502, with the same internal electronics (excluding a 4-pin XLR headphone jack) in a half-size form factor. These Swiss-made DACs have seen an enormous amount of praise...

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

I don't think I did a true ABX test, since that would require setting two references then getting a random input and deciding which reference it matched. This was more like an eye test where you switch lenses and decide which works best for you. I like setting up tests like this because it...

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

I ended up ordering a Weiss Helios. I got it earlier this week, and I decided that I was going to set up the ultimate blind test of the Weiss DACs this weekend: 1. I ordered a passive XLR switch from Amazon. 3 sets of inputs and 3 sets of outputs. 2. I ordered a few sets of Grimm TPR XLR...

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

The 4-channel bit is more of a future proofing exercise at the moment. But the 4-channel version also has updated DAC chips and analog section. You can read more about it here: https://weiss.ch/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/White-paper-on-the-DAC50x-4ch.pdf

    Weiss Engineering DAC50x (DAC501 and DAC502) Review

The inputs are labeled RCA (for coax S/PDIF), XLR (for AES/EBU), TOS (for Toslink), USB, UPnP, and Roon Ready. You can switch between any of them on the fly. In my bedroom system, I use TOS for the output from the TV and Roon Ready to stream via the Ethernet input.
