I haven't noticed highs that are unpleasantly sharp. It may be for the reason streetdragon posted above. Overall I'm happy with them but I am looking for another pair specifically for hearing details. These don't replace the clarity of the 940's and I still miss that.  

I loved the clarity of the Shure 940 but the headband cracked 6 days after I bought it. If you are concerned with build quality I would look at something other than the 940. That was my personal experience.  

I picked up an E9, the price was right and it works with the E7.  

I've had my DT770's for a few days and I'm impressed. They seem to be a good sounding headphone for general use. Everything I've listened to that had a good source recording has sounded excellent. They seem to be holding up as well which is important to me at this point.

Wow the amazon deal on the Beyer T70 is pretty sweet although I dont know much about them. Anyone have experience with the quality of the Amazon warehouse stuff. I'm concerned they might be very used considering the discount is almost $200 but then again would Amazon sell something that used?
