Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
What strap is that? Very nice! Not a DSOTM. Maybe it's the lighting or maybe is has a coating on the case but hat's a standard Speed Pro. Look at the subdials. Plus, it has tritium lume which predates the DSOTM by a couple decades.- leftnose

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
Ooh. Russian and Swiss? Those are my two most recent acquisitions as well! eBay Vostok: I don't have any other square watches and this was purchased on a bit of a whim. Horrible watch to use, not automatic and has the funky Vostok crown that makes winding a little difficult...- leftnose

acidtripwow passed
I learned yesterday that Al passed away over the New Year's holiday. He wasn't as active a user over the last couple years but he was a headphoneus supremus from back in the day, a head-fi member since 2001, and a headphones guy from long before the portable digital revolution. Al sort of...- leftnose

What's the verdict? I'm tempted to swap my 17-40L for this. I'm thinking the 16-35/4L IS and my 100L IS Macro would make a great two lens "general" travel set.- leftnose

UM Pro 10 Cable Question
I disagree. The distance from the IEM to the "Y" joint will dictate where it can run. If the legs of the Y are shorter, you can't run the cable down your chest as it will catch on your throat. Such cables have to go down your back. Cables wtih longer legs to the "Y" can run down the...- leftnose

UM Pro 10 Cable Question
So my Klipsch X5s finally wore out after at least 5 years in service. I'm thinking of getting a set of Westone UM Pro 10s to replace them. I know that they'll be a bit more neutral than my Klipschs ans I'm OK with that. However, how do the cables run on the Westones? I know they're up and...- leftnose

I've got a third party collar for my 100L as well. I think it's Vello branded. The main issue I have with it is that the detent is very stiff so it's hard to get off the lens even when loosened completely. It feels like I have to pull/rotate the assmbly a bit too much to get it off and...- leftnose

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
Yeah, Private Reserve is definitely a "pleasure" ink rather than a "business" ink. Visconti Blue, Aurora Blue (too purple for me), or Waterman Florida Blue are all better for getting work done.- leftnose

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
I love blue ink. From top to bottom, I think Private Reserve makes the best. Lake Placid Blue, Midnight Blue, DC Supershow, Ebony Blue, American Blue. They're all fantastic. But they all behave like modern super saturated inks and take a while to dry and can feather on bad paper. Visconti...- leftnose

Yup. When I buy a lens from Amazon, I always wait for my points to come in before buying any accessories for it. In this case, it'll pay for more than half the price of the hood. Makes the overpriced nature of the hood easier to swallow.- leftnose

I've only been talking about it for a year but I finally cashed in some Amazon points after an appropriate price drop on the lens itself: and a 100% crop from a 1/5 second handheld exposure: I'll be spending more time with this lens going forward. It's certainly larger...- leftnose

Ah! Vello's: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/743382-REG/Vello_LA_MFT_LM_Micro_4_3_To_Leica.html Honestly, though, I don't remember paying that much for it. Fits tight on both the camera and lens with no perceptible play. I think if I changed lenses more often, I would get the OE...- leftnose

Nope, not rotated. A Manfrotto 055XPROB with convertible center column. (I need to buy a second flash to balance shadows better) I use Lightroom 5. I've never used Panasonic's software even when I had my GX1. Yes to all your questions, PiP magnification that can be moved...- leftnose
