I learned yesterday that Al passed away over the New Year's holiday.
He wasn't as active a user over the last couple years but he was a headphoneus supremus from back in the day, a head-fi member since 2001, and a headphones guy from long before the portable digital revolution.
Al sort of pointed me in the right direction in this hobby. He and I were sitting in Ray Samuels' living room buying Tomahawks with a third friend when Jude called Ray to discuss the new little amp. Sort of a fun happenstance.
I'm sad today for my friend.
