Native Players not sure about, but any player that can be Rockbox'd can play flac. You should do a search as this topic has been asked before on several occations.

I had the problem with the iPowers and so I too am curious about these new ones. TNMike1 led me to ones that do work (Maha Powerex 9 Volt 300 mAh rechargeable battery) but if I could get longer rechargeable battery life, I might consider spending the money on new rechargeables. So like Romanee...

I also get 2-3 hours with my lithium rechargeables and with the ultralife I also get around 7-8 hours with my Portaphile Maxxed.
