Schiit Gungnir DAC
Listening to the Gumby from a cold start it was already clear it was a different DAC. Even after not listening for the 1-2 weeks down time when it was being upgraded, it was quite obvious that it was different from the D/S gungnir that I was so familiar with (owned for 4-5 years). As it has...- joebobbilly

Schiit Gungnir DAC
I've been waiting or the last few months in the front of the queue for the multibit upgrade and they just keep teasing me with the backordered estimate date moving back each time . I had thought I'd kill time reading through this thread, but it has only fed the desire! The current Gungnir DS was...- joebobbilly

Empire Ears X Effect Audio Giveaway // 2017 EMPIRE SPRING SALE
Current in-ear setup: iBasso DX50 --> Westone 4R Would definitely LOVE to add a ZEUS-XR to my collection. I commute daily now on public transit, so these days I find it harder to listen to my desktop rig. This would definitely be a great step to push me to upgrade my portable player! NEW...- joebobbilly

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Congrats! My first rig for the HD650 was the E09k + E17. It was a very very satisfying combo and offered the flexibility of the E17 as a portable dac/amp for my iems during the commute. I'd recommend though that if you plan to upgrade your chain later... upgrade the DAC first. It will likely...- joebobbilly

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Note, you are planning to drive a headphone at the maximum range/limit of their "recommended" impedance. EDIT: Even Fiio themselves market and sell this as an IEM amp... the HD650 is pretty darn far from IEM's in the scope of headphones. TBH... Fiio is good bang for buck. But if you...- joebobbilly

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Just as you say... the LCDX are very transparent (like the HD800) but can be somewhat tiring with the speed of it's sound. Like being outside on a bright clear sunny day for a long time without sunglasses... the eyes just love the rest when you come back indoors home .- joebobbilly

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Gosh it has been a long while since I last have these puppies a longer listen... and I come back to hundreds of posts.... couldn't bear reading it all. However, that being said... even after extensive time with the LCDX, these definitely give a more relaxed and "natural" tone that just helps...- joebobbilly

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/audeze-lcd-x-fazor-and-fresh-listen-current-lcd-2-and-lcd-3-measurements#1mqWwYPxcKx9Bg6j.97 The measurements indicate that there is little to no difference in the extension of the bass. Ergo, not likely.- joebobbilly

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Haven't heard the LCD2f... but I owned the 2.2 before... upgraded to the X... and I haven't looked back. It's better in every way (IMO). An argument could be made that the bass isn't "as good" but to my ears, the bass of the LCD2.2 is simply greater in quantity... not better in quality. I find...- joebobbilly
