best passive noise cancelling for work
Hi all, My work has decided that noise cancelling headphones aren't allowed. They believe that the 'microphone' in it records and is against the rules of the lab I work in. I was using a pair of Bose QC25. They may reverse their decision and let me bring it back in. So what I am after is...- jdenn

what I did to reduce some of those microphonic noises is I took the cups off the yokes and gave them a 360 degree twist to create a loop, before I put them back on. It kind of shortens the length a bit and gives it a sort of coil, keeping the noises down! It is cheap (free) and easy. Hope this...- jdenn

Only partially correct, a 3dB difference is twice the Power. But yea there is no reason to drive the M-100s that high... as Val likes to preach (and rightfully so) hearing loss hearing loss hearing loss. 100 dB for 15 minutes can cause loss.- jdenn

amazon doesn't do custom shields. they also don't sell the XL pads... there are services that act as drop locations for your shipping and then foward it on, but I've never tried anything like it. Best thing I can suggest is send them to a friend/family member located someplace they do ship to- jdenn

AFAIK there is nothing like that on the horizon. The only thing 'pending' is something called the revolver and that is a ways off, with no release date and little more than rumors. If I were you, I'd get the M-100s, you won't be looking bacak- jdenn

Before the XL pads there was some success stuffing paper towel and assorted other things under the pads in a ring shape, but the results were a bit mixed- jdenn

It is interesting to offer 2 versions of the M-100. The sound is definitely different for everyone, I've found the bass tamed and the highs more pronounced but I thought the mids were more recessed, One of my coworkers with the M-100 said that with the XL pads they were fairly flat... Tyll's...- jdenn

I did the M100+faders on a flight to australia, but only to sleep. I was right by the jets so it really helped make my sleep more tolerable- jdenn
