I would suggest listening to DT770-80's before jumping the gun on the amp/dac combo.  Personally, I am unwilling to shell out more than $100 on a DAC/AMP combo for the DT770.  In fact I am using a Cayin C5D and have a hard time justifying the purchase to myself. With that said you should...

  Yes $130 is a sweet spot.  I would have gladly spent that much for these.  However, I grabbed them from Newegg at an offer price of $111.

  Just tried it mines acting up.  Basically turned on the unit and toggled the switch to CHRG and connected to phone.  It just charges for a second and then disconnects.  LEDs go bonkers when I connect them too.

I observed that when the battery is low it switches on and off.  Though mine's a C5D and I am on Desktop.  It doesn't happen when I use it while charging it simultaneously.

  Should be just plug and play and your phone should have OTG support.

The Cayin C5d is DAC+AMP version and not just an amplifier which is C5.  What I would like to know is it worth spending $99 to get it over using standalone DT770 over the Realtek ALC1150 or any other PMP/Audio source.

recently upgraded from MDR-V6 for home use to DT 770 PRO 80 ohm.  I am currently pairing it with Schiit Fulla.  Anyone would recommend a Cayin C5D over it? (for $99)
