My experience with the UE 6000 now I want to return them

I am currently searching for a new set of cans. Specifically a closed full size. I bought the UE 6000 but can't stand the colored sound and lack of something that I can't pin point. Going back and forth from those to my Vmoda m80 there is no comparison. Love the Vmodas except for the semi-open...

My experience with the UE 6000 now I want to return them

Ok. Thanks for clarifying If you could go a bit further, do you believe the Lynx cans to be good? I would assume that because they were better than the UE6000 and you liked the UE6000 that the Lynx would them be great by transitive property. I guess I am just not understanding your logic here.

My experience with the UE 6000 now I want to return them

That is an interesting take on things. It is nice to hear someone with an experience other than being blown away.   I am curious though. Initially you sounded like you hated them and then you followed up by saying that they were really good. Which one is it?

    Looking for noise isolating full-size/portables

I am currently on the search for a new pair of headphones. My current pair (VModa M-80) are wonderful but have real problems with isolation in noisy environments.    Can you please provide recommendations for noise isolating headphones (not IEMs) in the $150 range? If possible I would like a...

    Why ATH-M50??

Quote: Replace the Ultrasone 780 with the 580.    I have had all three at some point and have sold or returned each for different reasons. I too listen to rap music and was obviously led down the same path as you.   As for the sound quality, I still find myself wishing that I had...

Quote:   Very well put, Crow T Robot. That was almost the exact description that I was looking for. I am always interested in how lower price headphones compare to directly to more expensive ones and was really interested in these.    That said, considering that my M-80s are no longer...

    Why ATH-M50??

Quote: How about detail? The one time I was able to demo the m50, I was less than blown away by the detail I was able to perceive.

I know that these headphones are famous for their value and obvious visual similarity to Beats but how do they compare to more expensive portables?   More specifically, how are these sonically different from the V-Moda M-80s?

    Why ATH-M50??

How pronounced is the high freq roll-off on the m-80s? Is it something that would be noticeable to an un-trained set of ears?

    Why ATH-M50??

I was under the impression that the m100s were too bassy to be regarded in the same category as the m50. Can you give a comparison to the m50 and m80?

    Sennheiser Amperiors?

Quote: Elektrospeed, would you elaborate on why the strong bass of the Amperior is not suitable for hip-hop music?   I was under the impression that the punchiness of the Amperior would be perfect!

    Ultrasone HFI-580 TRS Cable Jack

I used a simple connector from Radio Shack. They have a few stereo plugs and the most expensive one fit perfectly.
