DC iPurifier2 - In Pursuit of Silence

To ifi audio: My gears are 1 USB-Coaxial interface (5V-9V), 1 raspberry pi (5V) and 1 movie player (12V). They all have a quite decent switching power supply and I would upgrade them. I DO NOT need to switch them on at the same time. 1. How much improvement in term of percentage is the new DC...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

Hmm...the picoreplayer is somehow relatively hard to setup up but have you given RaspyFi a try?   I am not sure about zone 2, do you mean have the 2nd RPi and play music stored in a common storage like NAS?

If money is not a problem, how about SSD? there is 1TB available.

My guess is should be worse, due to moving disks generating noise.

Wow, I am afraid I could hardly agree with any of you saying that the TE8802 (Async) is somewhat the same sound quality as the old TE7022 (Sync).   The TE8802 is certainly a different beast and way better than the TE7022 in all aspect.   I have the 10SE and the DI-V1, both have the TE7022...

CAS Source: Raspberry Pi - Picoreplayer & RaspyFi

Before I use Raspyfi, I use Picoplayer and that requires a network storage for music. Therefore, I start with a PC and a Wifi router. all of them are connected with Ethernet Cables. Later, I found that all of those PC components have impact, mostly negative, to the sound quality. At last, I...

    Audio-gd Digital Interface

Welcome to the party. I am also using RaspyFi 1.0 too but on DI-V2. Please check if you have the occasional "Zap" sound like I am having. It might be better if your music is stored in a USB memory drive directly attached the RPi.

Yes, I agree with you. A MPD client is a must consider the Web Interface misses some features.   It seems not it is because of the lack of CPU power because some users told me it is fully compatible with XMOS based USB DAC up to 24/192. Besides, I run "top" to watch the CPU usage and it...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

No, it is a different beast. Before I wrote this thread, I compared Picoreplayer with JRiver media center in a Lenovo Notebook / PC. Sound quality is clearly superior in Picoreplayer.   You could bypass much of the unnecessary processes for sound generation in Windows by WASAPI but:   1...

CAS Source: Squeezebox Touch replacement - Raspberry Pi + PicoPlayer

Interestingly, I also tried squeezeplug in the very beginning and found that it is not compatible with my USB DAC, though it might be the lack of knowledge to tune it. Moreover, if I install LMS into the same RPi, it is too unresponsive because of a lack of horsepower.   Since you have a...

Thanks for your support. As you might have overlooked, I now found RaspyFi v1.0 is even better both in term of the ease of setup and sound quality. Please visit this thread:   http://www.head-fi.org/t/681593/cas-source-raspberry-pi-picoreplayer-raspyfi

CAS Source: Raspberry Pi - Picoreplayer & RaspyFi

Preface: I have been using Picoreplayer for a while. It is a great piece of software and it is a good CAS source compared with PC.   My Introduction to Picoplayer could be found here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/674236/cas-source-squeezebox-touch-replacement-raspberry-pi-picoplayer  ...

Yes, since all 2.5" USB external hard disks are USB powered.

Yes, Samba should work but not tested yet.   USB storage directly attached to Raspberry Pi is tested okay, but beware that I tried two different 2.5" USB external hard disk with no success, perhaps not enough power to drive.
