Old Audioengine A5 massive pops, crackle
Howdy Everyone, Looks like I get to join the snap crackle pop and blow into the mic sound club. This really sucks. My previous monitors lasted over 10 years and these were only used a few times a week for less than 5 years and now they are toast. I've got a 20+ year old Adcom amp sitting here... -
A Noob's Review of the Sennheiser PX200-II
Has anyone tried the "I" version of the cans? I wondered how the mic sounded to those that were listening to a user of the phones. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003WV7890/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER- espressogeek

FrankenZERO - A bang for buck exploration with a DIY Heart !
If you are talking about the DIP socket that holds the opamp used in the dac output section, those 561j labeled components would be caps. I have included a pic that I cribbed from another forum that shows the older version of the DAC. In this picture those parts are the more traditional...- espressogeek

Slight distortion in some music
Does anyone else hear distortion on Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt at around the 3 minute mark? I am listening to the CD and this is the only CD of the "American" recordings where I hear distortion on any of the tracks.- espressogeek

127 transistors for a DAC - now with picture
Can you bypass the internal filter and just use the I/V? I am just curious. Also, does anyone have a collection of I/V designs or a link to a web page that describes the various ins and outs, op amp vs discrete, etc?- espressogeek

I have installed the Neutrik BNC in place of the factory supplied RCA plug. I am using a Blue Jeans cable to connect this to a HagUSB and it sounds wonderful! I will be installing my own version of the FrankenMod soon! I will be sure to post plenty of pics as well. Thanks for everyone's help!- espressogeek

Finally...my CKKIII lives...
NICE! I have been wanting to roll one of these so I can try an amp with no global feedback. Is there anyone that makes some small wooden chassis like pictured above?- espressogeek

Review: ZERO 24 BIT/192KHz DAC/Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp
Yea I am wondering if I should even tinker with this thing. I reckon I'll swap out the caps, install some wima bypasses, and swap out the opamp on the DAC board with a HDAM. When is the compass coming out?- espressogeek

Thanks but I already have an order that I am placing with digikey so if I could find good one there that would be great. I might just give in and pay the shipping from partsexpress as I want to pick up some rca connectors too. If I wanted to use "snap in" style capacitors, such as the...- espressogeek
