Well getting back to the DIY Amps that were requested. I have not seen many CK^2III but so far with the HD650's I am blown away. My suggestion and I will take my own advice is to build a M3 PPAV and a CK^2III and choose for yourself. I would then sell the ones that doesnt suit you.

I just picked up a Like-New 87v for $230 as well from Amazon. So there is another option if you are having trouble finding a 189

For a few dollars more the Portaphile V2^2 is really a nice amp, and I find it drives the 650's very well.

I went through the FS Forum and noticed one sold for 650.00. So I guess there are good deals that can be had for this amp.

I am still a cub at all this. The only amps I have used so far are a CMOY, the Tomahawk, and the DarkVoice 336i. Could it be the HEED?

He did mention being able to roll opamps. The AD744 would not work if you were able to roll opamps?

I found this thread off the Portaphile review page. I have not read through everything here yet what I have read so far impressed me enough to give it a try. Well here then is to a resurrected thread.

It funny you say that becasue I was using the 880's with the DakVoice and switched over to the 650's and I cannot describe what I heard but it was not as good as the 880's. So if the V2^2 can do well with the 650's I should be set for awhile.
