**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Is this 3.5mm cable something that Dan makes himself, or can it be purchased separately? I really like that cable that came with my Mad Dogs, and I'd love to know where I can purchase different sizes and colors.- Davinator

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I ended up ordering a project ember tube. I'll be using it with the mad dogs until I'm able to upgrade them to alpha dogs. I'll report back with my impressions one I have time to build it and listen to it for a while. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk- Davinator

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I currently have the Mad Dogs, and I'm on the waiting list for an Alpha Dog upgrade. I'm powering these with an O2, but I'm considering upgrading to a tube amp to use with the Mad Dogs and ultimately the Alpha Dogs in a month or two (Hopefully my name comes up for an upgrade soon!). Does...- Davinator

The $25 DIY Headphone Stand Guide
Well, they're still on my workbench so it's a little dirty in the background. Here's what they look like though! The other thing I did was I cut the couplings in half. The PVC couplings I found at Lowes made the part where the headphones hang on were too long. By cutting them in half, it...- Davinator

The $25 DIY Headphone Stand Guide
Great instructions! I just finished building these. I ended up using regular felt sheets, and using rubber cement to glue them down. I also used duct tape to tape the PCV pieces together, since it seemed stronger than electrical tape to me.- Davinator

MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones
I love that you can tune the bass on these. If you lose track of the number of turns you've made, how easy is it to go back to 0 turns and bring it back to factory shipped settings? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk- Davinator

Hello
Very good point. So you only mentioned the amp in my setup. Are you suggesting that my DAC (The ODAC) is adequate and that replacing the amp is the most important change, or would you also suggest looking into upgrading the DAC at some point?- Davinator

JDS Labs C5/C5D (pg96) portable amp/amp+DAC
Have you tried CM11? It's been a while since I've used AOKP, and frankly these days I much prefer CM over AOKP. I hardly use any of the extra features in AOKP, but CM I use almost everything.- Davinator

What tube amp are you using? I wasn't considering upgrading my amp to a tube, but now I'm contemplating the idea. I hear the Crack OTL is supposed to be incredible with the 650s, and I assume it would also work very well with the MD/AD headphones as well.- Davinator

Hello
Oh no... this is why I knew being a lurker was better than actually posting in here. I would end up buying more stuff. I've been a little hesitant to purchase a tube amp, mainly because of the potential maintenance associated with it. In your experience, what is the maintenance like on...- Davinator

Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600
I had the Shure e4c's way back when, but after a while I wasn't enjoying them as much. I'm very close to purchasing a new set of IEM's, and the re-400's seem to be one of the best quality/cost I've seen. Have any of you ended up migrating from larger headphones exclusively to the re-400/600's...- Davinator

THE DIY HEADPHONE STAND THREAD
I really like how well this turned out. When you used the 3 inch rubber coupling, is it held in place by pressure, or is it just sitting on the top of the rack hook? I'm wondering if the coupling may easily come off when you remove your headphones.- Davinator
