Nomad 3 Review- IGN
Gotta agree with DeanA, I am a big NJB fan and I paid far more than he did .... The battery life is a pain but Creative did supply two sets of batteries which gets you through a transatlantic or transcontinental flight. The sound is much improved with an amp although I found adding extra o/p...- crk

Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister
All the B&S albums are 'worth a detour' as they say. Sure, they are self-indulgent but every album has a couple of magic tracks. Arab Strap just happens to have more. The Lazy Jane collection is typical. The tracks range from the truly sublime to the utterly awful. Mostly crk -

Exactly how many people here own pair of Koss-porta, sporta, ksc35/50?
Just got some 35's to add to the 50 and sporta collection. I used to love the sporta's but now they just sound boomy. Talking of 'tweaks', I still can't fathom why a power cord could make a difference. But, I'm convinced that pressure on the ears is really critical which is why the 35's sound...- crk

Flying 15k miles in a week... my experiences with heavy-duty flying and 'phones
Hi meatman Nice write-up. I have the same problem with the Ety's and those kind people who think they have something you want while you are on the plane. I was struck by a couple of things... 1) Why LGW-CDG-LHR? was this just to get round the M25 to Heathrow? 2) What is the route of the RTW...- crk

Clipping on the output from a CD
Joobu Thanks for your help. This is where I've got to. The amp is currently working fine but it required a 100pf across the feedback resistor on the gain (x2 on my amp) stage to get this stability. The best I could achieve without the caps would be the following. The amp would oscillate...- crk

Clipping on the output from a CD
Joobu 1. Loads 2. The scope's fine (checked and calibrated) The waveform from an audio disk is typically a jumble of things that look vaguely sinusoidal, i.e. curved. You don't often see straight lines unless something is clipping or slew rate limited. Indeed this is the case with almost...- crk

Clipping on the output from a CD
Hi expertz I've just bought an oscilloscope. While trying to track down why my CH47 was (and still is) oscillating rather than amplifying. I noticed the waveform when the amp was working looked really bad. It showed clipping and those straight triangular waveforms suggesting something was slew...- crk

back to the PJB100.....(or Nomad) ??
Hi I have a NJB and use it all the time with a variety of headphones including my ETY 4P's. I also use the line out and an amp and haven't noted the problems noted by mbriant. There is a variety of 3rd party user software out there (www.nomadness.net). BTW the site also provides a guide as to...- crk

Are you a freak about your CDs? ;)
I don't worry about the inserts but I do keep a catalog. It ain't that difficult, I just use one of those CD player programs which accesses cddb or freedb and stores the info in a database (EAC does this). A lot easier than keeping track of my 45's which has to be done with my 'two chickens... -
