I've never heard anyone complain about that particular problem before which makes me think you might have a set screw that's out of tolerance in some way. Is it really loose in the hole?   Maybe buy another knob and see if it stays tight.

I still have files I can pull off backup cd's I made in 1999. I don't have a single hard drive that's made it more than a few years.

I have a pretty good handle on the backup to a hard drive deal. What I was wondering is if anyone has a utility you can point to a large folder, containing a bunch of smaller folder that contain the music, and have a program split them up evenly over however many dvd's it takes, and burn them...

I don't mean breaking the FILES up but rather dividing the folders up into 4.7 gig portions to burn to disk.

I have about 120 gigs of music files that I'd like to write to dvd discs for backup in case of HDD failure. Is there a program that I can point to a folder and it will automagically split the files into equal disk sized portions and do consecutive burns until the folder is done?

I started out with an Audigy 2 ZS and PX100. Now I have a Gamma2/M3 both powered by Sigma11's feeding HD650's. The interconnects are a USB cable that came with a camera and some cheap RCA's that came with a DVD player. I can hear stuff like foot movements and page turns in piano music...

Use duct tape under the board to prevent shorts. Usually the nuts on the jacks and the volume pots hold the board in place. Altoid tins are a hack no matter what you do.

A little note about kits...you get a package with all the parts together. Which resistor is 100K ohms and which is 1 M ohms? To me it has been better to order the parts and use the label they provide, and print on the parts package itself, to identify which parts go where.

A usb Gamma2 will be a nice DAC for any headphone and it's performance is top shelf for the price. However, don't discount the Gamma1 usb either. Even though the chips in it may not be the newest thing on the market, the fact that you are getting sound from outside of the realm of the PC will...

When you turn the volume all the way up do you still have an imbalance? Or is it only at the lower levels?
