HD668B VS HD 558 and HD558 Burn in.
Well just a little update. After about a total of 25hrs burn in, I would estimate the Senns 558's sound about 20% better than they did pre burn in. The Bass and mids continued to improve and now the Highs are even opening up. 558's really do burn in nicely and they now sound in another league...- Can Junkie

HD668B VS HD 558 and HD558 Burn in.
Well after about 4hrs burn in, I am not sure if my ears are getting burned in or what but I can safely say the 558 Senns are now sounding noticeably better than the Superlux 668B's. I have been swapping them back and fourth and the Bass as well as the Mids seem to sound much better now. They...- Can Junkie

HD668B VS HD 558 and HD558 Burn in.
I have owned a pair of Superlux HD668B's for a while, reasonably burned in. I just picked up a pair of Senn HD558's on sale at Best Buy for $139. I was expecting the Senns to be much better sounding than the Superlux but to my surprise, they sounded very similar. I am not the type to take...- Can Junkie

Starving Student PCB's
Any reports from builders as to how this amp sounds? I kind of need to know before I decide if I want to spend some extra cash on a Hammond enclosure or not. I am particularly interested as to if the amp does a good job of bringing out the highs and lows. I have found most non amped sources as...- Can Junkie

Starving Student PCB's
Hi Fred, Boards arrived the other day, they look great,..thanks!! Questions: (some may seem simple, but just want to make sure) 1) On the transistors, the thinner area denoted by the dotted line is the heat sink side for orientation purposes? 2)The 3 terminal phone plug is the one...- Can Junkie

Do you have tinnitus?
I have it in my right ear. The result of an injury in my younger, wilder days. (We pay for the fun in our youth later some times I think) I have good days and bad days with it and the bad ones seem to be when I have a cold like now. I try to limit my music listening when it is bad and enjoy the...- Can Junkie

Advice on 1st good set of headphones, Bose QC15, Audio Technica?
Are you looking for active NC or Passive NC.(I assume you know the difference being a pilot). A good set of closed HP's could classify as NC. If however, they will be in a noisy environment, you might wish to look at Active NC. I suggest you do a search of NC HP's here in the threads. Be sure...- Can Junkie

In your own words, define the "HeadFi Zombie Effect"
In your own words, define the "HeadFi Zombie Effect" I will start. It usually goes like this. I am using my HP's / Rig as some simple background music while working or surfing and all of the sudden a really good part of a song comes up. The head leans back, the eyes close, and whatever you were...- Can Junkie

Sennheiser HD800 arrived today
Yeah I can see you leaning back in your chair with a super wide smile on your face. When it comes down to it, that is what it is all about. Bet you have experienced what I call the "HeadFi Zombie effect" a number of times now. Been thinking about starting a thread on it. It is when you are...- Can Junkie

Audio Technica ATH-M35 Review
My Daughter wants some HP's that have "clarity". (I love that) Anyway, I did not want to break the bank and I love my M-50's so was wondering if you think the M-30's would fill the bill?- Can Junkie

14% increase this year in Heaphone sales!
Just saw a news report that would indicate we are not the only ones getting into HeadFi. It would seem the Headphone industry saw a 14% increase in sales this year over last year. Yeah I know what your thinking. Beats, whatever. Still, with stores like Best Buy selling Senns in their stores, you...- Can Junkie

Accidentally Extraordinary - AE 51st Studio Headphone
Cool looking set of cans. Love the Retro look. Even cooler considering it is real wood. DIY aspect is tempting. Heck, swap out the drivers for some ATH ones and you might have some thing very interesting. Some careful internal wood work and you know you could make the new drivers fit.Find some...- Can Junkie
