One omamp is an AD8397, the other is bypassed. Part of my problem is that I have pretty poor hearing, so I often just can't hear subtle differences all that well.

Sorry for the delay in my response.    Qusp, you are right that it's a mechanical issue, but there doesn't seem to be a way to bend the pins enough to fully solve the issue, as the plastic ring the jack fits into is also broken, allowing the jack to move a bit.    So, does anybody know...
