Lets Talk Metal
Alright, this seems like a relevant topic to jump into; I'm listening right now, on my HD 800, to Ayreon - Universal Migrator, which I haven't listened to in quite a while. And to put it frankly it makes me happy to be alive. It sounds so amazing. And equalization was mentioned by Music... -
Cowon Plenue P1
Thanks for responding. I just ordered an AK100 though, since I could get that cheap, none of the other players were available in my country, and the (previous)uncertainty surrounding playback during charging. Also, because my J3 was acting up and I wanted to receive a new player before going...- BID

Cowon Plenue P1
I want to confirm a potential issue with the P1. Has anyone been able to charge the P1 while it's playing music? Either by connecting it to an external battery or a wall socket?- BID

Cowon Plenue P1
I'm looking forward to this becoming available here. In the meantime, I asked Cowon about the file-limitation of the P1(I don't think it's been mentioned anywhere), and it was 70 000 files. That's good, at least, since I can't put any more files on my J3, after having reached 13955 files.- BID

Audio-gd Reference 7.1 LONG warm-up time?
Though only somewhat related I will answer with something I've experienced myself. I usually let my Phonitor amp and Abrahamasen DAC stay on 24/7. Whenever I need to turn it off for some reason(going away, lightning etc.), the first few days after I turn it back on I sometimes experience...- BID

The culture of headphones and portable audio
This is why I use the OMX 980 when I'm outside. They let all outside sounds inside so I can easily hear people, traffic and nature. I've also found that people talk to me like I didn't have earbuds in my ears, for some strange reason. And it definitely is like putting a soundtrack to my life...- BID

New to Head-Fi with one piece...
I have only made one cable upgrade, and it did make a certain difference. Not a big difference, but the sound was less grainy, more clear. This is not my main point however. Since you will be using these headphones for large periods of time, keep in the mind the weight of the cable. Some...- BID

Sennheiser HD-598 Amp necessary?
I have not owned the HD 598, but I have owned the HD 555. An amp would not make a huge difference. Using a headphone out and not a line out will make a difference though, as you pointed out.- BID

SPL Auditor or Musical Fidelity M1HPA for T1?
The Phonitor/Auditor is good as presenting the sound as it is. It's great in that its neutral character will make different headphones indeed sound different, and it never seems to run out of steam. You will hurt your ears before that time. As mentioned by cascode it will also lack punch...if...- BID

Help: Buying Music Headphones In 90$ - 100$
I haven't heard how the HD 515 sounds compared to the HD 555, but the HD 555 is pretty good. Depends how you like your music though. It's a bit grainy and warm.- BID

How on earth do you juggle two expensive hobbies: audio and photography?
I recently started photography. Problem is I only have the 35 mm equivalent of a 28 mm right now, so I need to get a lens or two for longer distance shooting. At least I'm not going to spend big in audio for a while.- BID
