DAC or Sound Card for Computer Speakers?

Before posting a question here, i did manage to search few threads but none could address particular question that i have. It's a 2 part question.   1. I already have JDS Labs ODAC that i use for my headphones. 2. Recently purchased Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers and was wondering i need to buy a...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Dunu TITAN 1 — titanium-coated diaphragm earphones'

Most about these IEMs is already said in many reviews already out there so keeping it short. SQ is brilliant. Sounded clearly a notch better than Shure SE215 to me. Could easily be the best sub 100$ IEMs out there in terms of sheer sound quality. Lacks in isolation department. Knocking off the...

Shure SE 215 or Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear?

Well, This is the dilemma i am in now after reading reviews of Momentum In-ear. SE 215 was my daily use IEM for commute/travel and at office until one fine day the connector jack started to dysfunction. I loved SE 215 for many aspects. The sound was never fatiguing, highs were smooth(that's how...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'JDS Labs Assembled Objective2 Headphone Amplifier'

It lives upto its name. This ne is a gem as far as neutrality is considered most neautral Amp i have had or tried so far. I have tried HiFi man EF5 Fiio E11, E17 ,little dot mk2 etc. and found them clearly sub par comparing the bar this product has raised for its price. The immediate this one...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'JDS Labs ODAC'

I have so far had owned only FIIO products E10,E11,E17 etc. have tested out audioengine D1, matrix iDAC and some other DACs before purchasing this DAC. This is hands down best performer of all the products i have owned or tested so far. When you plug it in you'll definitely notice significant...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Sennheiser HD 650 Headphones'

Awesome headphones. Perform a lot better with good amplification. Good for almost every genre of music. Bass response is already good, can get even better and tighter with amp. Extremely lush sound signature. You can spend hours with it without getting fatigued by sound. Treble, though...

Amp Suggestion for Sennheiser HD 650.

Hi, I am planning on buying Sennheiser HD 650. I tested them with 2 Amps my Fiio E11 and HiFiman EF2A. Problem is I loved E11's sound and the way it impacts HD 518 but it's not enough to drive HD650. HiFiman EF2A was powerful but i did not like the sound coming out of it to HD 650. At this...

Reply to review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Sennheiser MOMENTUM'

Isn't it unfair to give poor rating to this headphone on the basis of a thing which is not even claimed by Sennheiser? I purchased these today, in-line controls(apart from pause/play, next/previous track) do not work on my Nexus 4 too, but I have tested it before purchasing. The packaging...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Sennheiser MOMENTUM'

Truly premium feel of overall looks and packaging. Case is nice. It has got 2 sets of cables, one with the microphonics other without it. For the price the only complain i have is they are not as portable as Bose Quiet comfort. Other than that these headphones are great.   I actually went to...

Any suggestions for analytical sounding IEMs under 100$? the cheaper the better....

thanks. I was considering HiFiman RE0. they are quite cheaper at ;least 40 bucks. How are they as compared to these? Read lot of mixed reviews @ them. According to many they are highly analytical and little pleasure to listen but some feel they are not as cold as people think.

Any suggestions for analytical sounding IEMs under 100$? the cheaper the better....

I have so far a collection of slightly bass heavy to bass boomy IEMs and want to try now analytical sounding IEMs (should not be completely boring sounding though). Also please suggest a good portable MP3 player that can handle lossless audio formats and enough space to store such files on it...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Hippo VB'

As the title says, it's for Bassheads. Very fatiguing for longer listening. The amount of Bass on these just kills the fun for me so not very highly recommended.

IEM that can produce excellent Sound imaging.

Hi guys, so far i have tried Brainwavz M2, Soundmagic E10, Soundmagic E30, Hippo VB, Sennheiser CX300-II, Sennheiser CX-180 etc. I love E10 over rest all. Thanks to the folks who recommended. But none of them has exceptional imaging capability. Hippo VB being the costliest among the lot, was let...

    Listening to 256kbps bitrate mp3:s

256 Kbps and 320 Kbps do not sound very different, there are very subtle differences and you'll have to listen bunch of variety of songs to feel those subtle differences. Anyways i have HD 518 and can easily recognize difference between 128Kbps and 192Kbps but can't say the difference would be...

Review by 'akshayshah12' on item 'Sennheiser HD 518'

I was initially confused between HD 558 and HD 518 at the time of buying, but then some articles and forums on Head-fi helped me to decide for HD 518 as these were best bang for the buck and HD 558 did not justify their cost premium over these in terms of quality. Design : Cord is detachable...
