    DAC popularity check

I think the price range for each of the categories should be determined. From observing the list: Entry ($1-$499) Mid-level ($500-$1499) High-end ($1500- ) Does this sound reasonble?

Love my good old Wilson ProStaff 6.0 95... too bad they're discontinued Looking for an alternative, anyone know a more recent racquet similar to the 6.0 95? For strings, I use Gosen OG-Sheep Micro 16 @ around 58lbs.

Decided to resurrect this thread because, now that I have purchased a PS Audio Digital Link III with balanced outputs, getting a balanced headphone amp has actually become a possible upgrade for me in the (hopefully) near-future. Going to Japan - What should I buy?

Congratulations on your purchase, slunk077. If anyone ever has a chance to visit Japan, I highly recommend "Dynamic Audio 5555" in Akihabara for true audiophile heaven. 7 floors worth of audio equipment. You can audition unbelievable amounts of gear, from headphones to 100k+ speakers. YUM

sorry that im asking a probably redundant question, but i am still confused even after an extensive search through head-fi about external dacs and soundcards. does the soundcard affect the sound quality when an external dac is connected to it? for example, emu 0404 => benchmark dac1 and...
