Windows 7?

I switched from XP to 7 yesterday. Now when I plug my headphone into the onboard directly, the normal noise are all gone, it's almost silent.

Can't say I noticed noticeable sound quality difference, but the reduced background noise sure makes it nice.

WASAPI works good as well, big improvement over the default 'null output'. Only problem is when I have foobar open, nothing else puts out sound.

WASAPI in exclusive mode bypasses Windows audio engine, as a consequence, you can’t mix, so you can’t play multiple streams.
WASAPI in shared mode uses the audio engine, as a consequence, it sounds more or less the same as DS.
So it is not a problem but a feature.
