No, I load my SD micro card in the slot of my Mac as it is faster and then load it back into the AK and it boots right up, the music is there and no scanning.

I am using the Intruder balanced out from the AK100. I have to admit, the headphone doesn't seem to degrade the sound from the AK100.

Is this the feature you're talking about, or have I been missing a cool feature that I had for months but never knew about? There's a high chance I may be misunderstanding you guys here .

So what's the trick here? Is it just a matter of browsing via folders even if scan is off/not done?

If so, will "All Music" actually show all tracks? I like to shuffle everything.

No point charging a premium just for the color. Even Japan is charging just a bit over the standard black.
 
 
Downgraded my firmware from 1.32 to 1.30 last night. The SQ seems so much better, lusher sounds and no more premature ending of my songs.

In practice there is no premium....
 
My Gold AK100 with the case and neck strap was cheaper than the Black one and case by about US$30
