I think you would have to spend quite a lot of money to upgrade from the S500's.

Yeah I don't want to spend too much, around $113 (£70). Aren't the Sony XB90EX's better?

@ Dsnuts  - Woah £169 pounds is a lot for me to spend on headphones!

I don't think I'd want to spend that much just yet

I would get it from made in japan, i got mine from there and it came pretty fast, then again i did pay 2 extra dollars for faster shipping, but it was still the best deal i could find.

Alright thanks, I heard that they were pretty good with their shipping and stuff.

BTW, I'm still looking for a detailed picture of the back of the box.. anyone can provide one pleaseeeee =[

This is where it gets kinda tricky I suggested those at first but I don't know if that would be an upgrade in sound. Lol. Those have monsterous sub bass but once you get used to the highs that are on the HA-S500 and then go to the smoother rolled off highs that are on the XB90. Detail will be somewhat lacking on the XB90 in comparison.

Unfortunately Achmedisdead is right. You are gonna have to save a bit more and get something like a UE6000 for a true upgrade. But even then when I am listening to my HA-S500 I wondering if it is a true upgrade in the sound. Lol.

perhaps a Sony MDR- 1R or M-100. Those will be out next year. $300. Save your money for a good one.

Thanks for the advice. I'll not bother with an upgrade for a while yet then

So, what should my next purchase be? Referring to post #2276, I've established I like a fun sound signature with nice bass. Obviously I don't want the highs and mids to be lacking either though but as long as they are decent enough. Even though I love my bass I don't want it to interfere with the rest of the sound.

Suggestions?

i am looking at those Noontec Zoro's.. but if i can buy them for 50-60max, not paying 100 bucks for them.  Not because they are gonna be an upgrade, just for the fun.
