The Fiio X5 Thread

I listen to my X1 with Altone200s, and the combo just seems nice and light together (not light in weight but in attitude/synergy).  I wouldn't want to amp it, that would take away the fun that I perceive from the combo.  Others may disagree.

As for the X5, it just sounds so good by itself that I have no desire to amp it.  Unlike my DX50, that needed an amp.

Depends on your iems.  The Altones just work really well with it (I hated them with the X5, that's why I got the Fidues).  Synergy is a lovely thing.

Oh!  I had a glorious time  in bed last night.  with 2.36, I am finally able to listen to full albums without to much jiggery-pokery.  Like my old IPod160 but with real impacting sound.
I was also listening to the Dune 2000 audio rip in ALAC and it was gripping.  Okay, done now.

Good day everyone.
For those not following the custom/modded firmware thread, just wanted to share my theme for the X5, FW version is the latest 2.36.

Don't worry about the much smaller file size as compared to "stock" firmware, this is only due to a much smaller font file size.

Modern Simplicity Darker (for those with "vintage" eyes, has a slightly darker background in lists):

I've been using TheoS53's above theme and the user interface is brilliant. Anyone who complains about this interface merits an solid ignore from me. It's super good work! I am also very pleased with 2.36 as well. My ears don't hear the sound difference some people claim is there. All in all it was a lovely weekend with my X5.

This came today when my dad was out - Amazon put it in a massive box with paper wrapped all over it which was ridiculous.
Brilliant present, can't wait to try it out.

Yesterday I woke up and I went to turn on my X5 and it would not turn on.  Then I tried charging it, the charging starts green then stays red.  Also the charging screen came up, but that also stopped showing up.  I tried resetting it, but it still won't turn on, what do I do?  Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
