Wait, hold on, the X5 has custom MODs!!!!!!

Oh man that's it I'm sold.

Unless the Sony NWZ also has custom mods. The NWZ runs android.

Does the custom MOD allow for playlist creation?

No... playlist creation is available without custom mods.

  Good day everyone.
For those not following the custom/modded firmware thread, just wanted to share my theme for the X5, FW version is the latest 2.36.

Don't worry about the much smaller file size as compared to "stock" firmware, this is only due to a much smaller font file size.

Modern Simplicity:

Modern Simplicity Darker (for those with "vintage" eyes, has a slightly darker background in lists):

Nice!
I'm using it now, I like it!
Thanks!

Yesterday I woke up and I went to turn on my X5 and it would not turn on.  Then I tried charging it, the charging starts green then stays red.  Also the charging screen came up, but that also stopped showing up.  I tried resetting it, but it still won't turn on, what do I do?  Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

What happens if you press the upper left button of the X keygroup while poking the reset hole? (This should start the firmware reflashing program even if the player is hung)
Just to see whether it is possible to reflash the firmware.

Try asking in the actual beta fw thread  - http://www.head-fi.org/t/745948/x5-firmware-2-36beta-folder-jump-true-random-shuffle-more-custom-eqs

Try pressing the Shortcuts key (upper left button of the X keygroup) with the selection highlight hovering over a folder. Be warned, the delete button in this version has no confirmation dialog and can hang the X5 besides. I recommend waiting for the final release for this function :xf_eek:
