For upgrading the firmware its recommended in the manual to have a 32gb empty sd card.  Is it safe to upgrade using a filled 64gb card ?  I don't have a spare 32gb card around :)

I thought it was an empty card of any size that would hold the firmware. I did it from a 16 gig card... empty, yes, more than once.
It worked fine!

I don't like fishing cards in and out of my F5 so yesterday I plugged it into my computer and just copied the firmware file to the root of a full 128 GB card that is a FAT 32 formatted card. The upgrade went swell and I didn't have to do much of anything. Your results may vary but it worked swell for me.

I have done three FW changes in the last ten minutes using the who cares method. All were successful.

I honestly use Ziplock bags for my DAPs when I think they might get dusty or wet. It was an honestly helpful suggestion. C'mon, people...

I keep mine in a waterproof grade bag. Had a mac-book air survive a nasty flood in a dorm building i was staying my room had about 6 inches of water in it with the bag on the floor and I wasn't able to recover it for about 5 hours. The bag was soaked inside and out however my mac was completely dry. Ever since then I keep my stuff up off the ground and in a good bag.
