There are adapters available to use SD cards in microSD ports, but it's not a very elegant solution.

Bought the fiio x5 in the end, saw it on sale again at mp4nation. The question is.. what case to get, i want to use it at work too, my work isnt really physical but its full of dust, dirt etc. Which case should i get? not interested in the wallet type of tuff luv case though the other one looks good, theres the dignis one and the one fiio made, the hs9, which offers best protection? sorry if this isnt the forum to ask

the leather one made by fiio. by far the best protection. the plate on x5's face is made of something durable. 
 
anyone on x5 thread heared ultrasone iq iems? or akg k3003? or senn ie800?.. i am kind of curious how they work together. i want to buy basically iq, because it is cheap or akg k3003 because it seems to have the best soundstage. if anyone tried any of these, i am pretty interested to know how is the synnergy.

So far what I've found through research is the Fiio has a more powerful amp but the Sony NWZ-a17 has a better user interface and is way more compact. Also 1 card slot instead of two.

basically, you should listen to the sound and decide what you like. on papers, x5 is superior, but it will all depend on what you expect and  what   you want to hear!
 
as a short recommandation, most people who bought x5 are very happy with it!

Are you sure about that? I know somebody who ordered a new one recently and received it 2 weeks ago.
I sincerely hope they still make them, because it's 1 out of 3 on my wishlist...

asked them more than one time, if they still make the 1plus2. i heared a lot of good things about them, and i heared that 1plus2 would be better than akg k3003. but the company never sent a reply, and it has been some time, and more than one message to ask for a date, if they still make them, or how much does the 1plus3 cost.

There is no 1plus3....
 
The latest IEM is the Ref.1, although I think the 1plus2 is still available. The company is Tralucent Audio, for the answer all you have to do is PM him: spkrs01

For upgrading the firmware its recommended in the manual to have a 32gb empty sd card.  Is it safe to upgrade using a filled 64gb card ?  I don't have a spare 32gb card around
