This has probably been brought up a few times but... What's everyone's favorite after market cable? I had some Tripowin previously but decided to take a flyer on Xinhs. Holy crap, Xinhs are gorgeous in person and really, really freaking good.
Is there any other cable brands I should keep an eye out to expand my IEM jewelry? Without breaking the bank and going up to like Effect Audio? Or is Effect really that worth it?
I probably enjoyed Bonneville more than you did, but agree that the lack of coherency was a dealbreaker (no, I don’t own it).
I get why so many people enjoy it so much, and I do as well - that juicy, athletic bass; the lower mids that pop; the airy, detailed, non-fatiguing treble; the fun, musical presentation. It's like an all-star squad that doesn’t ever really come together as a team - to me it sounds like 2 or maybe even 3 different types of drivers at work, each of them very good at what they do, but the lack of coherence between them, once heard, cannot be unheard.

Yeah XINHS are great to deal with. NiceHCK have been around forever as a budget cable brand, but they recently stepped it up with a bunch of solid $100+ offerings which I posted about here and elsewhere, and I’m starting to pay attention to them once more. I’m sure you’re aware, but don’t buy AE cables unless they’re on sale or you have a voucher. I’ve had great customer service from both.

I saw him give advice to a user who was dissatisfied with the sound stage of his M300. Joe suggested Sound Field settings between 1.0 and 2.0 to address that complaint. The user tried it and exulted in the positive result from the change. That's why I asked.
My gosh, positive talk of cables uses in public, and right out in the open? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Cables do nothing more than add to the bling in looks. You’re simply blowing up your ego’s all of you..........by wearing this garishly bright and polished Pimp Daddy crap around your neck. I bet you think it looks good, lol. Waist of money, I mean sure if you got the cash and feel like freely spending it in ludicrous fashion, then more power to you! And sure maybe they are only built well and are fastened together better than the included cables.................but sound wise they don’t ever change a thing.

Not sure if super serious, but, this was definitely a vanity purchase with them being on sale and I wanted to grab a dual pin to 4.4 cable anyways just so I have one.

No I was joking out loud. But I’m glad (I guess) your happy with the looks only. Myself I would never in reality consider the cable as jewelry, I’m into cable looks, but not that way, I’m more focused on the sound. Yet that’s the great part about Head-Fi, as it takes all kinds of listeners and user experiences to work-out in the end. Cheers!

So true, that everyone finds their own way around. I mean do these guys look like strict rule followers? There are very few real in cement rules to this.
