The discovery thread!

I’m a bit disappointed to find that the Pilgrim cannot match its sibling Gaea on any aspects that I index for. Amazing how much more Lee can squeeze out with one extra BA.
To be honest, I'm not surprised, that's what such a price difference should indicate, although... >insert discussion of diminishing returns

DSC04107 copy.jpgHey folks! A brand called Rose Technics reached out to us recently and sent some gear for us to try. We ended up really digging their stuff here in the office, and now they're officially live and in stock here at Bloom! Not sure where to start in their lineup? Checkout my intro and buyers guide for their lineup here. Theres also some fantastic write ups floating around here on HeadFi, so I encourage you to check those out as well. And of course, if you have further questions or want some comparisons, hit us up on our live chat or email us at hello@bloomaudio.com. I hope you guys enjoy! :)

What do you exactly mean by "melancholy" in sound signature? sad, pensive?! ... "I found Star City 5 Pro to be mostly focused and thoughtful, with a rather melancholy and more detail oriented sound signature."

What is worth attention - Myer Audio SLIIVO SLT6 - for those who endears almost monitor-like neutrality full of a lot details and at the same with musicality for different music styles.
Saw you and @ToneDeafMonk rave about it a few times but always dismissed it at being too expensive. Then I saw that in the sale now it only costs 348€, it seems too good of a steal to let go, especially because I felt like having an all BA IEM in my collection but didn't feel super attracted to the Aful Magicone?. Considering I also bought a Hiby R6 Pro II from classifieds it is an expensive month for sure tho!!
Did end up cancelling my Hiby R4. I am sure it is a wonderful piece of gear for the price but I think I'll be glad I took a few steps up.

I was really impressed with the Quiet Sea when I got it, so I've been following their stuff since, and I ended up getting the Star City 5 pro, and I really like it a lot. Also ended up ordering the Starlight from their website, which I don't think is listed anywhere yet, but it's a cheap bullet style iem with detachable cable that supposedly has an expansive soundstage "for gaming". Considering how cheap it was, I got one for running.

I was actually disappointed with the QuietSea and reviewed it recently. But to each their own as this hobby is highly subjective after all.

Edit: I will say though the QuietSea has one of the best stock cables I've seen under $200.

Mostly subdued and not overly aggressive. I enjoyed it much more with my slower paced classical and jazz tracks than their other offerings which I found more dynamic and fast attacking in comparison. Maybe it wasn't the best choice of word there, but one that I found fitting for the mood that StarCity 5 Pro gave off.

Nice! I haven't seen that one, but am definitely interested in their other offerings after going through these IEMs. Hopefully I come across Starlight sometime soon :)

May this message serve to thank all the brands and shops who have been so kind to me and who trust me, like so many other great reviewers on this thread, to do my humble reviews. Without all of them I would be nothing as a reviewer. Still, proud to be a portable audiophile and privileged as a reviewer.

Thanks to all of them.

Yeah, Origin looks really good. Man this is tough.. What you guys think? Origin, Falcon Ultra, OD200, anything else in that ballpark?
Go with the Dunu. As @o0genesis0o said, it's a safe bet.
