I only compared to the perforated sheep skin, I only like the Elite Hybrid by far, though being DCed is going to be hard.

Next to the hybrid, I would recommend the Veylor

Both of these contribute toward larger sound staging on depth and width with better controls and extensions on both low/high.

I don't know if they ship to your country, I've used Zenmarket and had a good experience. There are a couple of others I heard good feedback about but I can't remember the name.

There are 2 Buyee pop ups everytime you visit the store. I tried adding to the cart but it seemed to end up being quite expensive using their service or shipping prices. When I compared to Zenmarket I found I could achieve a lower final price - this was a few months ago and details could have changed. I think the same option is used for the Fujiya-Avic site.
This could be the easiest direct method of purchasing, Zenmarket would wait for you to deposit funds then make the purchase for you, then offer the shipping options/prices so it would be a longer process. I've only used for Amazon Japan, but I know someone who makes frequent purchases using Zenmarket and is happy with the service.

How do the Elite Hybrid compare to the Elite Sheepskin (solid)? Have you done this comparison by any chance? It's the latter that I bought, tried, and found inferior to the stock pads.

What amp are you pairing the Z1R with there?

Make sure it's properly driven. It might seem like an easy to drive headphone, but it scales really well with a powerful amplifier.

I don't think that a big driver causes diatortion. It may be tge amp

Does anybody have an DH Prion4 cable? I bought one from classifieds, basically new, with 4.4mm for my WM1ZM2. However, I don't get any sound out of it, no chance.

Even though it has the 3.5mm headphone jack, maybe it does not work well with the MDR-Z1R?
