Lower treble spike is surely there, Sonove's graph, Tyll Hertsens and Golden Ear's all show it. GE uses the standard hybrid tips as does Tyll, if anything, wider bore tips will probably make it worse. Foam tips will actually help though as long as there isn't too much of it past the sound tube. GE usually graphs with different tips and there is quite a difference in the treble with certain ones, but spikes don't go away, they just get tamed with certain tips.
It's relative to our sensitivities and IEMs of use as well. The EX600 wasn't as harsh when I was using the FX500 and HJE900, but when I started using the Xcape IE and GR07 the spike became more apparent.
