can you please also check eq apps like wavelet, or poweramp eq with apple music/tidal, etc. ? they were working before in earlier firmwere versions, i can confirm its a similar case for Plexamp, it used to work earlier then, it started distortion after an update then it fixed itself after a new update and now again after last update it broke again.

Have to admit, pretty disappointing. I was using a M1S as a very portable unit, was enjoying that so much decided to get the M3U just to access my Plex server. It does seem that the issue on Plexamp for me is only when streaming. If I download the files to the device, no distortion, although M3U still shows 192k sample rate.

true if files are offline usually there are no issues, had similar problems with Roon when the player launched but they fixed it after feedback from customers here on the forum thread.

The sampling rate shown depends on the app and how it communicates its data to the system. Some apps will be showing 192kHz, because they simply to the system seem to be outputting all as 192 kHz.

Apple Music has stopped working on the M3 ultra. After the last update of the app I get this message "Only Available on Unrooted Devices. Apple Music is no longer available on rooted devices"

Apple included this curious block in their latest V4.7.0 release. We reported it to our software team and they are working on a fix.

Meanwhile, we recommend to switch to V4.6.0 version of the app, which works without issue.

AFAIK, in addition to the Shanling DAPs, Cayin N6ii, iBasso DX170, HiBy R6 Pro/R5 gen 2, and TempoTec V6 are also experiencing the same issue.

Download it to “files - downloads” don’t do it using the link to the Shanling servers, they are notoriously slow.

It took about 10 minutes to download and something similar to install.

It was about the same for me. I was asking because it hung on my M6 and had to reboot and reinitiate. Updates on both devices worked well and the Apple app works without issues.

I bit the bullet and purchased an M3U. Already mentioned in the M3X thread that that units volume wheel stopped working and I wanted an upgrade anyway. Looking forward in receiving it. Ended up buying the green one
What tipped the scale was a podcast by Darko Audio on the M3U. Expect to receive it early next week, hopefully.

Now: I need to trim down the content on my 500Gb SD card because I need new music on there.. a daunting task.
I purchased a 1Tb brand new card, it didn't do anything - not showing up as a drive on the iMac, nor in the DAP..very strange. So I returned it and it got lost in the mail Instead of buying another one right away I will try and learn to control myself a bit, besides I will install Bandcamp & Tidal so I should have enough to listen to..

Will check right out of the box which firmware it runs on, can I just upgrade to the newest even it is would be a few versions back? Trust I can.
