The "problem" is just that the E4c is a pretty neutral in-ear whereas the IE 800 is obviously v-shaped and therefore has got a totally different sound signature one either likes and can get used to or not. That's it.
I am sure this would be the case.
ie800 has it's own sound, and when driven by a poor source, can sound really nonimpressive.
Well, ie800 is impressive from anything, for me, but E4c has just that sound of it's own, ie800 will surely sound really colored after it. But I love ie800 for that color, that is why I bought it XD.
