Could be for sure! But, how much of a difference will these sound like compared to the OG? Initially, the general response to the 660s was that they were disappointing. Now, a few years later we (me too) love them. Enjoy them and appreciate them. I'm not sure the v.2 will be substantially different, but perhaps, more a different sound within the 6xx family (a continual advancement of the original 600 .....) If so, $600 vs. $249?? We'll see

Oh, I agree completely! I was just saying, when they came out, they were roughly around that $500-600 price range. Do, I think they will be $350 better than the originals. Absolutely not!
I will definitely give the HD660S2 a serious look and listen. I am intrigued at the bass response extension with the retention of the Sennheiser midrange magic. The change to 300 ohms nominal impedance really brings OTL tube h/p/a into play….
The copper is a really nice touch, I loved the 660S when I owned it but I felt like it should have been capable of more. I would have much preferred it to be called HD670 but hey that's a personal thing.
I've been wanting to get another HD600 for a while now ever since I got rid of my years ago but I think I might wait for these and while I do think $600 is a bit much ($499 seems more reasonable) it still might be worth it to me. I do like that it's back to 300 ohms and the fact they use a new driver seeing as it's 42mm has me very intrigued.
I don’t think it’s fair to comment on it being worth the money yet or being overpriced when no one’s heard it. For all we know it could be one of the best open back headphones under 1K
