Did you guys replace the stock cable? Because the bass does get much tighter with a lower resistance cable

I just tried the X2 in the USF Jakarta event.
First impression: very light, lighter than my X1. I own L1 dan X1 and owned L2.
Sound impression: L2 is faster, brighter, X2 is more intimate and more airy, more bassy too.
The real surprise is the price, Philips Indonesia is selling the X2 for about USD250 during the event.
After the event, the price will return to USD270 ($20 discount during the event).
I have until tomorrow to decide whether I want to buy one, as the fit/comfort is better in X2 than X1 due to lighter weight.

From memory, do you find the sound to be the same with the X1 or is the X2 surely an upgrade in sound quality?

From memory, the difference is not that much, IMHO a testimony of already how good is the X1.
If I have time, I am planning to bring my X1 to the event tomorrow, thus I can A/B them.
Too bad they do not have X1 in display, only L2 and X2 and the Armin van Buuren cans

Either the X1 is going out of production, or the sound is so similar they don't want you to know

Maybe.
Contemplating whether the nicer (lighter) build of X2 can justify opening my wallet.
Had the some problem when I saved for HE-400i, then canceled as for my ears, the soundsig difference is not worth the price difference. Sure HE-400i is lighter.

Both are not neutral, but to me the L2 is slightly more neutral. For rock or faster music, go with L2.
For a more intimate sound, go with X2.
L2 is around USD 340 in the event, vs USD 250 for the X2.

Yes, I asked twice, in the event, L2 is more expensive than X2.
I did not ask about the L2 price after the event, but the X2 price after the event is about $20 more expensive than during the event.

It's very interesting and funny.
So the final price of X2 will be under 300$?

Why would they have a discontinued model there?
