How Large is Your Music Collection?

Hmmm,

All approximations:

500 CD's
50 vinyl
5,000 MP3's

nothing earth shattering

About 500 CDs

5878 song on my computer not on my CDs

I question some of the post just because I don’t think they accounted for repeats (songs on both CD and computer etc...).

Let us see. Basically I don't listen to CDs directly. I get a CD and rip it right away to flac and then eventually to MPC (archive FLAC onto DVD). I think I now have about 500 gigs of FLACS and it increases everyday. And that isn't counting my 300 gigs of MP3s from when I used to do the MP3 thing. Hmm...it would probably be fun to go through those cuz its been a while.

28 Music Cds
1 music dvd
2,100 mp3s - dont really use them, just keep them as a reminder of which cds i need to buy.
28 cds in FLAC files (25 of those are mine)

yes i need more i know ....

cds arent cheap in bendigo, most of the stuff I like is European too so I end up forking out about $20-40 a cd depending on if its an import or not.

Only 140-150 CDs right now, 'all rigorously original'.

But proudly not a single "mp3" song ...ok, not exactly

... only a few in my computer. Less than 20, say.

Physical: estimated 300 CDs.

Digital: only 2110 Songs, 10.82GB, iTunes backed up twice on external HDDs. I've really been trying to be careful with using error-corrected importing and higher bitrates of 192k AAC minimum, 256k ~ 320k AAC with more complex music.

Unfortunately, iTunes' store is still at 128k, so the online song purchases that I can't wait for the stores to get in are lower SQ, but at least I get some good listening in.

I try to rate as much as possible in iTunes, using smart playlists to keep the top-rated, new and unplayed songs always available on my Mini. I can't wait for the 10GB Minis!

I tried to take care of that problem with the way I started off the thread, but only one person followed my example!
