Wonder why a different number of taps, given that the snapdragon platforms on those 3 daps are basically the same, therefore all technically capable of the same computational power.As the developer of Darwin v2 myself I have never been told why they have never been (seems like never will?) be put into firmware except in the R8II (not even the RS8!).

This is my speculation.
Note, the Darwin v2 filters in the R8ii are composed of 1024 taps instead of 256 taps as on the RS6 and RS8, and so will be different (superior?) in any case.
It can actually be a deliberate choice by HiBy to create product segmentation,
