Would 32 be okay? How about 24?

I fail to understand the pertinance of the question.

I have some flights that are more than 24 hours, sir. Not everyone has time to keep charging.

@justin: great to hear that!

No one is crazy enough to listen 24 hours straight.
My hope is that the battery can stand my back and forth flights without having to re-charge.

Given that the longest commercial flight is a smidge under 19 hours (Newark to Singapore). I find your claim somewhat dubious. Time spent asleep aside.

There are plenty of higher current (above 500mA) USB style chargers. I have quite a few for my HTC phones. Ranging from 800mA to 2A. I have plenty of USB Spec chargers that are at 500mA as well.

I have a charger for an HTC phone (AT&T Tilt) with a USB connector that is specified at 9V. Connecting the phone to the USB interface of a computer trickle charges it at 5V, but the 9V power adapter also charges at much higher mA because of the higher voltage on what I guess is the same load. I don't know if that's what you're referring to. You need to be careful that the charger you use is rated at 5V. A higher voltage would likely damage the amp.

Justin, I'm a little unclear on one thing: This amp is optimized for sensitive headphones like IEMs, but does it actually perform better with them than the larger Pico? What about your home amps?

You can hold your doubt. My last flight was 26 hours, including 7 hours transit. And, I sleep very shortly on the plane, really can't sleep when I sit.
Quote for my next flight:

Total duration: 25hr 55min

they make usb batteries. Choosing a device for such a weird situation doesn't make sense. That said, make it last as long as is practical

what about Edmonton to Auckland?

my other portable amps can last more than 50 hours(using iems) so as long as it can last over 50 hours, i'm fine with it.

I use my iPod chargers (both the large one and the new smaller one) to charge various devices that are charged via USB.... expect it to work with the Slim.

This is going to be awesome.

Netbook => Pico DAC => Pico Slim => portable headphone/IEM

Great hotel/airplane rig, at the very least.

Think of it as anticipation.
