You don't want the HD800.  It doesn't have the sound you want I don't think.

That sounds expensive.  I don't like any added expense at the.. expense, of an additional 1-2 days.

fedex ground is less than USPS priority on just about anything over 2lb

Maaaan, I would kill for the Vegan pads to demo the LCD2 with, as I would never actually buy any pleather/leather padded headphones. But it's understandable not including the vegan pads as there's not many with my hate for pleather/leather.:)

didn't think much of the program before when it was the HE-400 but now that the LCD2 is involved i'm gonna watch this thread like a hawk.

might as well find out what $1k headphones sound like if its only gonna cost me a few bucks to ship it to the next lucky listener.

That's alright, I forgot that large flat rate is only 15 dollars, so that's not bad at all.  Count me in!

No offense intended, but how much experience do you have with shipping? The USPS Flat Rate boxes are too expensive for what they offer, and are really only worth the cost if you make them heavy. Like, lead-heavy practically - and it's generally tricky finding items that are heavy yet compact enough to fit in a Flat Rate box. It's almost always cheaper to ship using Priority Mail (or Parcel Post) in your own box.

And as Justin said, using FedEx Ground is cheaper than USPS Priority Mail on heavy items, usually by at least a few dollars or more. On top of that, FedEx offers automatic free insurance up to $100, along with full tracking. USPS doesn't offer tracking. One of the other pros of using FedEx is that I usually find that there's almost never a line; on the other hand there's almost always a long line at the post office.

Ummm, how about a Canadian resident who lives 10 minutes from the border and can ship to family in the US (20 mintes across border), and of course ship back from within the US so it's not stupid and slow.

Justin, let me know if this is doable, I'd kill to hear the 500's or LCD2. The HE-400's really kindled a new love for Orthos. I'd love to see what saving a little more coin can get me.

In that week or however long I have the LCD2, I'll be doing most of my impressions for gaming (for my guide), though obviously using them for music and movies every chance I get when I'm not testing them.

If you use a U.S. address to receive and then ship its fine
